maybe you could put a netted area over the pond almost like an enclosed balcony to keep all of the birds out. also if you do put Bonnie and Clyde in the big pond, you should tag them so you know its them
I prefer the Remington or Mossberg method, or perhaps even the Daisy or .177 method.
The Tags would be a nice idea, but I’m not sure besides Moby what other fish would be that big in the new pond. They’ll stand out until they stop showing up as well

But at first, you’ll have aggressive fish like Moby that grow quickly because they eat like a glutton, but they will take a couple years to catch up to the fish that are already big like Bonnie and Clyde.
From what I gather, B&C are around 4-5 maybe at most 6 lbs. Moby is 2-3. If they release a bunch of fish into the new pond at the same time, let’s say all around 8-12”’s or so, plus B&C, it will take at least a couple years for even the most aggressive of those fish to catch up to the 3-4 or 5 Lb range. In that time, B&C will have started out at that size, while all the baitfish and other food items are exponentially growing in number because of the over abundance of food for them as well. A pond or like never naturally produces as large of fish as the first few years after its creation.
I think by the time new stocking sized fish get to be B&c’s current size, they would probably be pushing 8-10 lbs. that’s assuming the stress of moving waters, age, predators, or other natural causes doesn’t cause them to become ill or die.

Blue Herons are a heavily protected species in the US, which really is the only reason they're such a nuisance for pond owners

Had a janitor in highschool who was named Sherrif . My sisters are both 10+ years older than me and even they got to experience the grumpy old man . He even had gotten a badge from the school that he wore everyday . He passed away after my senior year . Seeing this video reminded me of him . 💛

When he said he died by a blue heron that broke my heart. Like dying by a bird in which you can’t control is the worst way to go and just the thought of a blue heron grabbing him and flying off and sherif trying so hard to go home just hurts my heart
