Jesus, Michael is a national treasure. You Brits should be very, very proud of him.
He is really able to put on words the feeling when riding a new motorcycle.
No other journalist on CZcams comes close to him in that, in my opinion.

The master journo speaks. A class piece full of insight experience and wisdom. A must have review. Great stuff Michael. Of course I own a Tuono Factory. It's a MY 2020 and it is simply a stunning machine. As Neevsey points out it is how the power is delivered to the road and how the rider is made to feel about his/her ride. A lot of effort distilled into just 10 mins of video - and the quality shows throughout.

Have had my Tuono V4 Factory 21 for about a month now - coming from a Ducati Supersport S. The Tuono just feels right: handling, brakes, quickshifter, tech - all spot on I'd say. Took me about five days of "deliberating" and reading reviews (thanks Mr Neeves) before I forked out the cash - best impulsive purchase I've ever made. I'm not heading to a track any time soon and it might be a bit unnecessary for a 6-mile commute a few times a week and twisty roads at the weekends - but bloody hell, it puts a smile on my face everytime!

Astonishing when you think the frame is now 12 years old!! They really hit the jackpot with the 2009 RSV4 frame and somehow they have added all the necessary stuff to make the Tuono a class winner for so long. This must be to Aprilia what the Elise was to Lotus. A masterstroke!

Having owned an older Speed Triple, a KTM Super Duke R, and a Street Triple 765 RS, I can attest that the Tuono is the bike to beat! Took your advice . Went on demo on 2021 Tuono this morning. 🕺🏿🕺🏿🕺🏿💥💥💥🍾🍾🍾😂😂😂😊😊😊👍👍👍. Hallelujah! Why would you not buy one of these. Why haven’t I ? I am a very seasoned biker not much I haven’t done to be honest. Have taken few demos lately , something more upright, comfy , but has to have the Go. Plenty time to get comfy shaftdrive 😉. First 50 meters riding this bike I noticed the rutted tarmac coming up , Gone Dealt with - Next? Mmmm, I’m in sport mode too . Quick flick in to touring and yes immediately feel a calm in bike, suspension chills out. About 3 rd roundabout I try brakes , Oh lovely, proper proper progressive stopping power. Out in the hills now some space to go little 😳😂. What a motor, I mean it’s not Total surprise, as from the moment you thumb the starter you are in No doubt that this is a serious machine. But when it opens up ,wow what a thing , the quick shifter and blipped / knife through butter livery. So addictive. Been clutching between 1st/ 2nd - using shifter above say 40 , lovely 😊. Been out awhile now so head back. Getting little cheeky with the go now ,gets ,feels even better, the shifts are slicker ,tyres are warmer , traction control just keeps sticky rear in check leaving roundabout bit eagerly ,, slight slide, probably got on dusty bit,it has been silly hot this last week or more. Not a problem. Leave braking really late next roundabout as it’s quiet , 😋. For last few miles I take it sensible, whatever that is, I look at numbers 26,28,31 all mph but I’m in 5th , 5th? Doesn’t want to be there but it does . Nuff said. To say I’m impressed is def understatement. What a machine. Everything feels like it has been refined to best it can be. I truly felt this from moment I let out clutch and left the shop. Comfortable too, what a bonus. A machine made and fitted with the best components,But it’s more than that it really is. You really become the experience. I’m buying . Can’t wait to get it. 💥💥💥🕺🏿🕺🏿🕺🏿😂😂😂😊😊😊👍👍👍🍾🍾🍾

Another great review from Mr Neeves. My motorcycle purchases have all been heavily influenced by his reviews. A yellow Ducati Streetfighter 848 was my 'gateway' bike five years ago. It got me hooked on Italian naked bikes, and motorcycling in general. It was followed by a 2016 Aprilia Tuono 1100 RR which took me all over the country. The tractable V4 conquered highways, twisties and racetracks with nonchalance. To this day I think the Tuono is the best road bike ever made. I'm currently on a black 2009 Ducati Streetfighter 1098S. Although it has been surpassed by modern supernakeds, the thumping V-twin and rattling dry clutch could wake the dead. It is irreplaceable.

Took me several track sessions to learn and respect it with my right wrist. That polished chassis is such a beautiful thing to look at, and I'm yet to learn and appreciate its potential. People who try to speak through their helmet are so hard to understand it really is so much nicer to have some vision of the bike being ridden and ofcourse hear it but have the commentary clearly recorded in a normal speaking voice. well, then I can do it for you, it is absolutely great, the sachs suspensions are much better than I could imagine and was a surprise, but I knew I had an ohlins fg43 waiting in the dust, so I installed it (had to get a top yoke cnc machined, no big deal) and the bike became from great to phenomenal and guess what, not even need to change the rear shock as the front is so brilliant now. Then you got to play with wheels, I indeed started with a set of forged marchesinis, was much better than stock and of course the bike more responsive, then I tried a set of bst wheels and the bike got transformed to another totally different dimension. Best bike on earth mode! So to sum it up shortly, buy a Tuono RR, get yourself a proper ohlins race fork on used market and a set of carb' wheels and surely you'll get close or upper a factory price but with such a way way way better bike it'd blow your mind and will put an insane smile on your face each time you try it.

I like that it has a bit more fairing. Prefer it to having the clocks out in the breeze etc. More fairing makes more sense at speed which all these ‘supernakeds’ are capable of. Plus sport bikes look better than most supernakeds. I added a carbon Ilmberger lower larger fairing, looks even better and still has the practicality and ease of higher bars for daily.

In the aid of a balanced review (no negatives were mentioned here!) it's got an agricultural gearbox and quickshifter compared to the BMW and Triumph offerings, and the throttle constantly hunts (while keeping a fixed opening) when you're riding along at normal road speeds.

I had a 2020 Tuono V4 Factory and because it seemed like they had read my wish list I part exed it for a 2022, switches are now easy to operate with gloves and they did away with the stupid little joystick, sorted the headlights etc. Now for the rub: they also made the new model E5, when I picked it up from the dealer I had to go into London which was a disaster because the bike overheated at every set of traffic lights. Seems like the bike now runs so lean that the radiator isn't big enough to keep the heat in check. I had an Akrapovič pipe on the old model and it ran perfectly but was too noisy to go on most tracks in the UK so I didn't spec it for this bike but it looks like the only way to sort the overheating once and for all is to fit the Akrapovič and the race ECU again making it unsuitable for the track. The 2022 bike also has a smaller tank which is also a huge mistake, because the bike uses more fuel that a Panigale V4!! Aprilia gives with one hand and takes away with another.
Update: Engine light is on and the shop - On Yer Bike in Bucks says it's nothing and I should keep riding it. Shame that a light on the dash would mean that it wouldn't pass an MOT. Not the best service from a bike shop!
