  • This is a prop car hand made by myself in my garage. It will be used in the upcoming musical production of Grease! at my daughters school where she teaches drama for junior high students. It is made mostly out of refrigerator and freezer boxes.

How long did it take you to make this?

+Venessa Nguyen After I found all the refrigerator and freezer cardboard boxes, it took me about 3 weekends to put it all together. To make it sturdy, I used wood strips at the bottom so I would have something to attach the cardboard to and to keep it standing up straight.

I know it's been a few years but does this car still exist? We are doing Grease in Temecula, CA and wondered if we could borrow it?

After the show completed it was placed into a storage container at the school for future use. At some point the car was torn apart by someone that had access to the container and it was sadly discarded into a dumpster.

@@ralphriganti23 Sorry to hear that, that was a cool car. It did give our set designer some good ideas. Thanks for getting back to me. Cheers!

+tom slick These were used a lot in cars from the fifties so I decided to add it to my car. It keeps the light pointed downward in foggy conditions but for me I needed something that would not blind the audience with glare since it was going on a stage and facing the audience.

Rockwall-Heath Highsteppers After building this car I had to rent an enclosed U-Haul truck in order to transport it 170 miles south to the Lakeside, CA area. Grease was a total success for the junior high school kids and they recently told me they're not ready to sell it at this time. Thanks for your comment and best of luck to you.
