Dr Grunch, I so happy to hold this space with you. You pour so much joy and knowledge into us. Sharing your grief is welcome. Blessing and condolences to your husband and all of your family members.
That's immediately my first thought after I saw that photo as well! She will live ok thru them all, but that twin face on their daughter will be their daily reminder of her ❤
You will find the right words to share the news with your children. When my mother passed my daughter was inconsolable that night. What I didn't realize until later was how deep her grief was. Definitely be open to therapy for the kiddos.
I lost my Mom in law in 1991 right before. Mother's Day..she witnessed to me about Jesus right before she passed away. She had cancer. I made three promises to her. One that I would be Baptized by emersion, that o I wouldn't cry at her grave side. I kept all that she wanted me to do. My calico kitty conceived kittens that same day. I now go to the church I was Baptized in. Jesus has gotten me through so much including the loss of my parents. So sorry for your loss and prsyers for your family sent up.💔🙏😭
Big hugs to you and yours, Dr. Grunch. Grief is weird, for sure. I lost my mom on leap day this year (my Dad in ‘21) . It’s been up & down. Yesterday, July 1st, would’ve been her 81st birthday. Sitting in my hospital bed, I sang “You Are My Sunshine” to her & hugged myself & sent it to her. 🕊️to you & yours
Grief is seldom linear ..its individualized...its a tremendous amount of love💝with no where to go...its unchartered waters you must navigate together⛵️🙏💝
I lost my dad when I was 17, I say this to say grief is truly such an odd thing. The waves of emotions are truly that, praying for you and your family❤
Betsy, a lot of people are so proud of you, your husband, and your family. Death is weird. The process is weird. Cleaning up someone’s things that were meant to be private and personal is weird. You ask yourself questions like, “Should I even be touching this secret bag of pebbles my loved one hid in her dresser?” It all feels so weird. You are not alone in that. It is also completely normal to hyper focus on things that you normally wouldn’t- duck shaped urns, weird photos on walls, etc. We’re happy to be your support system on social media. I am wishing you strength for you and your husband + family.
Dr Grunch I also am going through the same thing with grief. I recently lost my father on 6/12 and I miss him dearly. He also had some health issues but his death still was unexpected. Thank you for sharing your story and life with us. Makes me feel not alone. My condolences to you and your family. ❤
I am so incredibly sad for all of you. Losing a parent is like losing an era. You're forced to start a new one. Empty and emotionally torn. Hugging all of you across these cold air waves.🤗
Lots of us have lost parents. Grief sucks and your journey with grief is like a finger print. No two grief journeys match and it is your own. Our hearts are crying with you tonight because we know it's hard. The one thing I took away from when my Dad passed was the comments and memories people shared. Stories I hadn't heard from people who knew him a long time. That and the gathering of family. Praying for you and your family during this time and for you and your husband as you tell your kids.
I’m so sorry (for all of you) losing your MIL, Mother, and Grandma. I will say that passing in one’s sleep seems like the best route to heaven. Thankful she didn’t suffer. 🩵💙💜
So sorry for you family's loss. Praying for all of you. I also have had unexpected loss with my 27 yr old daughter many yrs ago. So hard. Grammy from Texas
I send all the love in the world to your family 🫂 Amazon & Walmart online has all the things you listed plus caskets that are beautiful and much more affordable for families. ❤
🙏May God ❤ watch over you and comfort your family in the coming weeks. ✝️ I deal with Death on a daily basis for work and it NEVER gets easy especially when loved ones were not afforded the ability to say Goodbye in person. I am so sorry.
I'm so sorry, grief is hard. Be kind to yourselves. It can be sneaky and pop up when not expecting it, I'd a tear come to my eye yesterday for a parent gone nearly 25 years.
So sorry for you and your family! And mourning your mother-in-law maybe means sharing your grief. Talking about her is also honoring her ! My sincere condolences.💚
Thank you for sharing. Grief is different for everyone. Please hug your loved ones. Please remember no one can tell you how to grieve, and it may take a long time. She looks like an amazing woman and you had lots of memories. Hugs! Thoughts and prayers! 🙏🙏🙏
I'm so sorry to hear it Dr. Grunch. Please give my condolences to your husband. My mother in law was my very good friend and when I lost her it was so hard. Bless you and your family.
I am so sorry for your family’s loss. My husband’s mother passed very suddenly in 1974 of a ruptured cerebral aneurysm so I understand the significance of the sudden loss. Cling to each other and treasure the many memories you shared with her. Words are inadequate…
My mom passed a year ago from bladder cancer, she opted out of a funeral because of the way funeral homes made her feel. So sorry for your loss, hug those Littles extra tight tonight.❤
My heart goes out to you right now, Dr. Betsy.😢 so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your grief. Sending deepest sympathy and condolences to you and your husband. ❤😢
Very sorry for the sudden loss of your mum in law Dr Betsy especially for your hubby and father in law , yourself , the kids and all . 🇦🇺🦘 best prayers and bless her in heaven .
So sorry for your loss. I lost both my parents- mom in 2012 and my father 2 years ago. I also lost my FIL 6 months ago. Grieving is definitely still hard.
I'm so very sorry for your loss. We lost my MIL in March, and my mother on Mother's Day. It's been a rough year. I'm so sorry you're suffering such a loss. Please give your husband my deepest condolences.
I’m so sorry, Dr. Betsy. Please give yourself a lot of grace as you process all of this. Sending positive energy to Ray, you, the kids, and Ray’s father as you all remember Ray’s Mother. May you find Peace within the grief.
As someone who has work in mental health and whose lost 35 people in my lifetime, your emotions are valid, funeral homes can be strange and cold. Everything you're saying is valid. Sudden death is strange because its hard to know your next move. Take time, be with family and take it a day at a time.
My deepest sympathies to you and your family. I’m grieving my sweet mom’s death. It’s four months today. You are numb right now. Take care of yourself and make others take care of themselves. Day by day you will rise and do what’s needed. It’s been hard but I’m doing it and you will too❤❤❤
So sorry for your loss …I recently lost my dad from a stroke at 76.. June 2nd We also cremated my Father! It is a lot to take in…I am glad I got to say goodbye and hug him before he passed..Lots of hugs and prayers for your family 😢🙏
Saying a prayer for you and your family right now. 🙏 A long time ago, someone told me to give myself at least four seasons to grieve my loved one & I have found that to be so true.
I am mixed on whether a sudden loss or a loss you've seen coming is worse. I have experienced both and I cannot say that it is better either way. Loss just sucksucks. I am so sorry for the loss to your family.
I’m so very sorry for your loss. I lost my Mum in November. There’s nothing I can say or do for you to help you get through your grief. Please look after yourself (before patients, they can wait). I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers xx 🙏💕
Sorry for your loss. It really hurts. I truly understand. It's almost a year since my Dad passed and it still hurts and doesn't feel real. You are not alone. Thinking of you all.
Dr.Grunch, your sweet raw pain was heartbreaking…all to often we see death, and go away back to our jobs, because we are needed for/buy others. please let me send prayers for your husband, your children and in-laws. MCP
Dr Grunch, sending you condolences and prayers for comfort. Just remember that there’s no right or wrong way to grieve. Ive had to help with preparations with my dad and my ex husband. Take your time, just because you are a doctor doesn’t mean you have to be superwoman.
I'm so sorry. No one prepares you to lose your parents suddenly. Today is the 10th anniversary of my mom's death in a car accident and it was still a rough day
Dr. Grunch, I'm so very sorry about the loss of your Mother in Law. Sending you and your family blessings of comfort and strength during this very difficult time. ❤❤🙏
I'm very sorry, in the process of losing my dad to pancreatic cancer. Over one year , which is more than most people get with this deadly disease, and yet everyday it hurts. I really like ask a morticians videos on planing a funeral and burial cremation viewing etc options, it is done with a bit of humor but you can tell how much they care.❤
I’m so sorry for such an important loss in all of your lives. Grief is a WAVE - it just rolls thru you at its own pace. Prayers and love for all of you as you go thru these next few days … your children will always remember her and her originality and vivid character.
Dr. Grunch, I’m so sorry for your loss❤. I too lost my brother unexpectedly 3 months ago to a stroke. He was 49. This was the hardest moment of my life. I wish I spent more time with him and everything. I miss him so much everyday but I know he is looking down on me and protecting me everyday. ❤
