- Here we have Graham Blackledge demonstrating why you need to buy a Yamaha YDP 165 Digital Piano!
The Yamaha YDP165 model replaced the massively popular Yamaha YDP144. They have made some great improvements to the speaker system, key feel, harmonic simulation and sounds. It has an amazing depth in its sound for the price point and huge volume from its 2 x 12cm 20 watt speaker system. This piano also gives a quality sound at lower volumes too and through headphones. The cabinet is a nice compact size for most homes and the GH3 key action is very responsive and fees great. I think this piano looks great, plays well and is excellent value for money.

I have owned an acoustic piano all my life...and now very interested getting one of these Yamaha digital ones. It is just amazing, so much offered. What a great invention. I'm sold

@@yungifez I ended up buying Roland instead. I love it, the sound and feel is amazing. It's a great practice piano for me as I can practice without being disturbed by husband lol...and dog barks. The feel and sound is beyond nice.

I tested one of this ydp164 and get really impressed by the ressonance.
It's really well made like an acustic that I can play sometimes. Some good nuances in thi prive range.
I'm testing some models in this prive range but almost convinced that the ydp164 will be the choice to make.
I remember Graham from Britain's Got Talent 2012. Very well liked. Fun audition.

@@RimmersMusicVideo I have the same model, I had it for almost 3 years and I think it's giving up on me. You see, It was fine 2 days ago but then yesterday the sound it produces became more muted. It was like if you press a bit harder on the key it get more muted. I tried to unplug and replug it, I tried to turn off and turn the piano on and I checked the cable. Please help

How do I tell if the piano/voice is on or off?
I am not sure what you mean. You can hear if the piano sound is playing or not...Kindest regards Graham
There’ll be a white LCD light indicator when the piano is on.

Any info about pedals? The seller here told me 2 of them are just cosmetic! Yamaha's web site sais they are functional..
Which seller told you they were cosmetic? The pedal on the left is a 'soft' pedal, which creates a softer response from the keys for added dynamic control. The middle is a sostenuto pedal, which sustains notes that are currently being held when you press the pedal, but not any notes you play after. They are more rarely used than the sustain pedal, certainly, but not cosmetic by any means.
