Because they used Background animation tiles to animate them, which is pretty common during the times of 8 and 16 bit games to use that technique to reduce sprite flicker

@@ubiased23 you can yeah, but for some reason the voices played nor the scc cartridge. Weirdly MSX patch Gradius does work with the voices so I have no idea what's up.

アーケードや家庭用ではお目にかかれない原作のストーリーや世界観が明確にわかるのがmsx版の魅力だと思います
MSX1・2用なのでグラフィクスやスクロールガクガクなのは致し方ないけれども、SSCという専用チップをカードリッジに搭載し当時としてはコナミだけは別格のサウンド環境を実現していた。グラディウス2もMSX用としては別格の完成度でサウンドもオリジナル策としては手抜きの一切ない秀作だった。サントラは何遍もきいた。30年以上経過した今聴いても素晴らしさを感じるのは当時のコナミがどれだけパワーを注ぎ込んでいたかがうかがえる

懐かしいの一言。過去作集めたバラエティパックあるからそれでプレイもいいかもしれない。
前作と言いmsxシリーズは若干探索要素があるんですが当たり判定が非常に厳しいんですよね。難易度が調整されリメイクされて欲しい作品。
