I think its a little like eyesight. You see everything, but your brain processes each individual and collective thing you perceive. A dogs nose has a far better olfactory. And I bet their brains are better evolved to process the information. They have better smell and hearing. We have better range of color, and I think depth. And other cognition. Like a dog hears better, but we understand what we hear. Maybe not. Doesn't that make sense?

What I find the most amazing is that they can tell what direction an animal is going in. Even in say 50 feet I wouldn't think that the odor would be very different. And it usually doesn't take them 50 feet to know what direction. It seems like it only takes them a few feet to decide on which way to go. I'm sure it gets stronger to reinforce their decision. And bloodhounds being able to pick out which seat a person sat in in a stadium. I still can't comprehend how they are able to do that with all of the overlapping scents.

They called Raiadna'acks, very common creature in the southern states.
Pretty rare to see one so deep in the forest, usually they shed the mower and grow pickup truck on the way to the wilds.
