As a merchant seaman I have literally drunk beer all over the world, there is no really bad beer (Bud Lite excepted) just some are better than others. If you are hot and thirsty and it's cold and wet - go for it.
I’ve never once seen this beer here in California, and for good reason - it’s not brewed here. It is brewed in Florida, which makes a lot of sense seeing as Florida is on the other side of the country and near the Caribbean.
Great beer on a hot day. Compared to its contemporaries it holds up ok, especially in the right environment.
Yes this stuff definitely tastes better on holiday. I first had it on holiday in St Lucia and then again in Antigua. On the grand scale of beer, no it’s not a good beer, but sat around the pool and on the beach in the scorching Caribbean sun, a cold one of these hits the spot.
At The Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad is used to drink it "cool in de ice". We got beat anyway.
Bought one recently and drank on Sunday. Not bad, not great. Picked it up as I’m keen to try genuine import beers whenever I see them. Bit sweet, not sure I’d buy again.
I'm from Trinidad, 6/10 is kind for Carib beer. It tastes very water down and no amount of heat helps with the taste. The other local beer (which I thought you reviewed but can't find the video) Stag, is more funky and tastes way better. But you are right, these beers need to be iced cold. I really haven't had a much better refreshing beer than a stag (maybe Heineken) but I have had better tasting beers/more complex beers.
This and along with Bank's larger are best enjoyed whilst in the Caribbean, had it loads over there but never tastes the same back in rainy England.😅
Had this in St kitts and nevis it's great you can get it on draft at sunshine beach in nevis it's quality on draft
I picked up a 4 pack in home bargains, mainly because it was so cheap. The 1st bottle was bad, I think the clear bottle had allowed it to become affected by sunlight. The 2nd bottle was more crisp. 6/10
Up there with Tiger as the most "nothing" beers I've ever tasted
Simon can you review Golden Hen?
Does it contain corn syrup? The reason being that a lot of American lagers contain it along with my favourite drink (Efes pilsner) and that could be the syrup like taste.
I could tell this was going to be a weak score of 6, and you were probably being nice because of the day. You have enjoyed the finest beers of the world, and one could read your facial expressions and the pauses. Otherwise, it's good to review totally different beers for everyone to enjoy and learn. Have a great day. Cheers. 🍺
Glucose syrup? That's a 'No' from me. Undrinkable.
Shepheard Neame 1698 has glucose syrup but the beer tastes ok to me
@@steve-bk1qd The real Kingfisher beer in India has glucose syrup and I have no problem drinking it in the 35 degree heat.
@@steve-bk1qdNo they don’t
Yes they do
Yup.
I'll have a nice cup of tea instead
Nice enough if its not light struck
Doesn't sound any more interesting than Budweiser or Coors Light
When is that review of Fosters coming?…..😂 only joking.
It looks awful! I mean after you poured it, it looks almost flat and lifeless. Reminds me of a warm carling but lets see how the review pans out....
Been having Carib since I first arrived in Caribbean in the early nineties. A cold Carib is perfect on a hot day by the pool, on the beach, out on the boat or having a evening BBQ. But here in the UK I stay away from lagers.
This beer is nice
