      Twitch is very annoying with all the people clammering for attention and al those popups that interrupt the flow of commentary or the gameplay. Talking to people isnt bad but damn if a cutscene gets ignored or interrupted because someone subscribed. it drives me crazy.

    You can click on a town to get a bit more information from a civilization,
    such as how much is required for each resource and how willing they are to expand.

    Haha, Jesse literally ran straight into the game over screen in 15 minutes for not allowing the tutorial explain to him how the game works lol

    • @korg47237
      @korg47237 Před 2 měsíci +1

      To be fair it's a pretty bad tutorial. Really does not convey it's a puzzle game because of the limited placements of resources. Jesse hops into it like a god sim kinda game that lets you do what you want, which ironically is what all the complaints about Reus 1 a decade ago was.

    • @MaxiTB
      @MaxiTB Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@korg47237 It's a not hand holding tutorial - it tell you everything but you can to choose to do nothing. I think that is actually a pretty good approach, then again, I'm Gen-X, my generation survived without hand holding the end of the cold war 🙂

    • @justinfritz4817
      @justinfritz4817 Před 2 měsíci +3

      @@korg47237 I would say that makes it a good tutorial. A game should let the player play and let the player fail. That way they have a motivation to learn what the tutorial is telling them. If a tutorial is too handholdy and just makes you press buttons, you dont actually learn anything

    • @Eventide215
      @Eventide215 Před 2 měsíci +1

      Yeah it was kind of hilarious how basically this video went: Tutorial: "Do thi-" Jesse: "HOLD ON I CAN DO OTHER THINGS?!" "...You really should do thi-" "FISHIES!" Then after a bit the game was just like "..Just conclude this planet 😒"

    • @Eventide215
      @Eventide215 Před 2 měsíci +3

      @@korg47237 What are you talking about? The game literally tells you to be strategic with where you place things because of how there's symbiosis with certain things. It's both a god sim and a puzzle but the puzzle aspect is very slight.

      To be fair, you don't really know how far they'll expand at first. When starting I assumed they only take up the center then 2 sections to each side.

    "Reus" is Dutch for "Giant"... but the studio seems to be French? ( in my experience the French dislike any foreign language, so I'm already surprised this game is in English)

    • @MaxiTB
      @MaxiTB Před 2 měsíci

      Ehm, Ubisoft - and no, afaik the studio is Dutch and spoiler, we in Europe speak multiple languages at once. I only speak three different ones, but I know people that speak half a dozen regularly.
      // Edit: With Europe I'm obviously talking about the real Europe, not Brexitland but even there some people speak multiple languages we don't even have here, like Welsh :P

    • @jhbonarius
      @jhbonarius Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@MaxiTB ah yes, I was looking at the wrong company. It's Abbey games, which is indeed Dutch. I'm Dutch, so "we" includes me.
      It's just my experience with France to which I've traveled many holidays: every time you try to speak English, they either don't know it or don't want to speak it. And you get disapproving expressions.

    • @MaxiTB
      @MaxiTB Před 2 měsíci

      @@jhbonarius True, in daily conversations it is sometimes pretty common, but I think it's more down to them not being as fluent in the language, so they try to avoid it. Completely different from say Paris where they play dumb when you mispronounce a word while speaking French sometimes lol Okay, that one was an experience of min in '99, haven't it encountered since.
