Thanks for the video. Mine has the same exact problem with the factory gasket, it just took 9 years for it to fail!
I have this same exact issue on the same exact engine atm. I'm the original owner, so the gasket had to be installed incorrectly from the factory. This has always been a very good engine, which is why I'm willing to put in this work. Thank you for filming this.
just finished up this job today no leaks! Thanks for the vid!
Hey, I just replaced the oil gasket on my Kohler 6.75xts using your videos as a guide. No leaks! Great video! Thanks!
Great!! I have one and oil is flowing out in the same area. I suspected the oil pan gasket.. I guess I will tear into it soon!
Turned out great! that will be a nice mower for someone, those older Craftsman decks are really solid.
+Alan Marshall Yea it will be, I too love how solid these decks are, really the only reason why I went thru the trouble in addition to getting rid of another motor from the shelf lol
Good tips man! you sure are keeping busy lately.
Ya trying to bud been hitting these hard because the market just went up for them trying to sell as many as possibly while it's good
I have a XT6, and the oil pan is leaking in the front. I found the seal, but it is going to take a month to get here. I can't wait that long, so will "permatex ultra black gasket maker" work, at least temporarily? Ive used it before on junker mowers, but this is the workhorse of my lawn business. Don't want to damage anything.
+Eli Youmans you might be better served making one out of a paper bag, I've never used that gasket maker in that sort of capacity I have however seen people custom cut one from a large paper Grocery bag
hmm... I would think the paper bag would be too thin. Guess I can try that. But I have to get the stubborn blade adapter off first.
Did you know that an extension will mess up your torque readings?
It will if you are using a u joint or an elbow, head to head straight on it wont. They told us that in my aviation school, that info also in essence comes direct from the FAA....
