Now in its 24h year, Grand Designs is one of Channel 4’s biggest returnable factual series and has grown into a global phenomenon, selling in over 100 territories. Apart from the TV series, the Grand Designs brand has also expanded to include books, a monthly magazine, architectural awards and a biannual exhibition, Grand Designs Live.
Kelly's determination is remarkable, but equal tribute must be paid to his wife - Maseko, for her patience, and unwavering support of her husband throughout the project. She's a rare gem. 👏

I do say, Kevin, from all of the programs I have watched, yours by far beats everything I've liked.

I have immense respect and even more jealousy for somebody taking an idea to completion and then living in it every day. That must be so incredibly satisfying. I built a deck and Bali hut once and it felt like a child of mine when finished.

One of the best episodes of this show. Amazing house and an astonishing achievement by this incredibly talented carpenter! Twenty years on, I wonder if they are still there? Anyone know if they're happy there? I do hope so.

Eventually what will an estate agent used to selling standard boxes say? Will this be an advantage to sell or put standard buyers right off? Mortgage companies and surveyors?

These episodes of pure craftsmanship are a joy to watch. I love this and "Ed" episodes the best because they have similar philosophy and you can see Kevin thoroughly enjoys himself. I'd love it if he did a series dedicated to revisiting these "Arts & Crafts 21C" homes also a series on the earlier homes that pioneered the things builders/clients take for granted nowadays. Big changes in building industry and would be good to look back. Not the usual replay episode then ten minutes visit but real look..... in meantime will continue enjoying these older episodes.
This is easily one of the best projects I've seen on this show; everything from top to bottom is in excellent taste and made with care and craftsmanship. Kelly is one hell of a guy and Maseko is such a great balance in temperament. Seriously well done, this is pushing me closer to want to go into carpentry if my music career ambitions fully bite the dust.
What lovely people! Truly amazing building and baked that he build it by himself. No struggles with architects going vastly over budget or difficulties with suppliers. The floor is probably a bit outdated by now, but the rest is timeless.
I wonder why the house was built next to another house? Plenty of space to put it in any other area? Sewage and power regulations?
How amazing their spirits and I do admire their remarkable achievements 😊

The audacity and vision reminds me of the "Cob King" and his EPIC Cob Mansion Complex. Awe doesn't cover it.

Ich glaube Solarzellen am Dach ist besser als ein Smartphone wo man geheilt werden kann…
Man kann immer in dem begehbaren Kleiderschrank led Lampen befestigen und mit dem Handy anschalten ode mit dem Dach alle Lampen verbinden aber sowas wie Wasch, oder spül maschine als auch Herd müssen eine seperate Stromquelle haben
Aber ein Haus aus Holz und Stroh und Glas zu bauen wäre total angesagt wenn man nach dieser show urteilt
