Good morning Daz... lovely new cactus 😀 love the dark spines and the T. lophophoroides is a really nice one. I have x2 E. Viridiflorous, bought for the flower colour, but they have still not flowered in 3 years 😄 Cute little seedlings! cool when seeds come with plants 😊👍🏻🌵🌞

Love the purple spines on the first plant you unwrapped ! In a previous conversation you told me to be careful as they are addictive 🙂 You were correct. Did a tally recently and found I have collected around 70 plants since late May. Still a small collection by some standards. More plants on my wish list that I have not located yet. Should wait to see how what I have now fare under grow lights in basement over winter before buying any more plants.
Haha yeah it’s super addictive. Winter is the only thing that stops me adding any new ones, much higher risk of rot otherwise. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌼🌺🌸🏜

Those cacti are so pretty. I got two haworthia seeds and one of them had sprouted yesterday. 😊 can't wait to see them grow.

I tryed ordring some gymnos online but i got distracted by some astros and every time i order online i seem to get some turbinicarpus this time i got t,flaviflorus and i wanted to get a harrisia and a pereskiopsis but could only find it as stock plants with astros grafted on top but i wanted to try my hand at degrafting befor i start grafting i want to be sure i can degraft so now i have a big order on the way and i ordered 70 small terracotta pots for my seedlings, so again thank you for showing me the hobby and your v-type and getting me in to cacti its so fun trying new plants after growing for 25years i was burning out and starting to neglect my pots but now i am back enjoying all my plamts

Hi Daz, so glad I found your channel, excellent cacti! I am having a little trouble with mine, could I ask you why I see you use water trays to stand your pots in please, it seems common practice in other channels that I've watched and it seems counter intuitive to me given that they don't like to stand in water or have a higher humidity or am I missing something here? Just trying to find out what I am doing wrong,any help would be greatly appreciated,thank you

Hi Neil. I have the pots in trays simply so the pots don’t mark the windowsills, no other reason. When I water I take each plant out of their tray, let them drain for a bit before standing them back in the tray. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌺🌼🏜
Is there any time of year you think is better then other times of the year to order online?
Spring and summer is always the best time. It’s not a good idea having plants come through the mail when it’s cold. Even buying from garden centres in the winter isn’t a good idea. Sometimes the people working there will water the cacti and succulents, you’ll buy them and then a few days later they’ll rot. Thanks for watching and commenting.
