this has been very big misconception we have been living with that sunidhi is more versatile than shreya when it is not.. sunidhi is defintely a vocal beast, her style is unqiue but it is very limited, she cant sing classical, as she never did in 25 years, so she can never be compared with asha bhosle who was trained classical and ghazals like in aankhon ki masti, piya tou ab tou aaja and haunting mera kuch saaman.. similarly shreya ghoshal is the one who did mohe rang do laal, chikni chameli and sun raha haina tu..
i dont see any vocalist remotely close to having the capacity and versatility to put together the content that shreya ghoshal has in 20 years and continue doing.. absolutely incredible..
about more than half of us has declared versatility as subjective while it is not, being a versatile singer simply refers to the ability of a singer to perform several genres of music and perform them WELL with pefect nuances, the voice modulation comes along but later i can name atleast 25 genres that shreya ghoshal sings/has sung.. and shreya ghoshal is always setting the bar and then exceeding it time and again that how literally every aspiring musician irrespective of gender and system look upto her.
@@Skill_Unit you are making no sense, versatility simple means to sing different genres not to modulate voice.. so asha bhosle couldnt modulate her voice like sunidhi so according to you asha bholse who was considered as the most versatile vocalist is not versatile?? im sure she cant make her tone like sunidhi did in beedi or kamli.. but no she is considered as one of the most versatile cos she could easily pull of bhajans, ghazals, filmi songs, classical, item numbers and more sub genres.. so can shreya..

she is a mezzo soparano, singing with chest heavy voice is natural, she sings romantic in falsetto/head voice that anyone would do having that range with different textures as you named palak as voice like shreya without understanding the technical and rooted aspect of singing shows how you are in delusional and among ones who think anuradha paudwal was as good as lata. 😂 and shreya sang balma like sundihi would do that?? ARE YOU SERIOUS?? BEING SOPARANO SHE DIDNT EVEN CHANGE HER VOCAL CHANGE TO SOUND "HOW WOULD SUNDIHI SOUND" such meh no? so according to you asha sang sharara sharara and mujhe rang de and mimic sunidhi?? 🤣
as i said above versaility is not subjective but objective.. shreya sings
1) classical- mere dholna, bhor bhaye, ghar more.
2) ghazals- humnasheen album
3) peppy/item- chikni chameli, lattoo, param sundari, jhalla wallah.
4) rock- kyaa raaz hai, angana morey, muraliya, family man ost.
5) edm/electronic - nah woh main.
6) pop- any bollywood song.
romantic- there is alot.
7) folk from many states- diggu diggu naaga, kannu hodiyaka, ghoomar, leja leja re, lagan laagi re.
8) qawali- deewani mastani, wallah re wallah, mohabbat(hindi song from the malayalam movie anarkali)
9) many ronindra sangeet.
10) carnatic music fusion- thumbi thullalo.
10) patriotic- apni maati.
11) arabic infuenced- mashallah(more preferably concert version)
12) bhajans- there is many.
13) prayers- har tarf har jagah, noor e khuda, dataa tu.
14) jazz - aaj dil gustaakh.
15) lullabay- chandaniya, aagaaya neelanglil..
now name genre with songs that sunidhi have sung? AND DONT TELL ME "SHE CHANGES HER VOICE" lol neeti mohan, neha bhasin, jonita gandhi, even neha kakkar also can sing ITEM SONGS WITH HEAVY VOICE AND ROMANTIC IN FALSETTO..

Hello Renitji. One Question. From black and white movies to 2021 I feel the transition of female voices moving towards being more nasal..So you feel same? in general though..but at the same time are they copping it with being shrill and peppy( like with pauses and vibrato) due to voice mutation. I am 80's born so I have heard Geeta baliji and Suraija and at the same time Lataji, Alkaji, Chhaya Ganguliji, Ushaji (both) Kavithaji and many in between but nowadays most female singers don't sound pleasant. Either it's a matter of choice or being accustomed..what do you feel about it?
