Lars Ola Rindseter from Dombås works at a modern workshop, but in his spare time he drives around in his own service car, like they did in the 60's and the 70's. This Volvo was called the "Duett" as it worked both as a car for work, and a family car.

What if Volvo made even more light duty commercial vans other than the Duett?

What if. To be fair Volvo 145 Express was more or less that. And really they where not really able to compete with Germany and there Volkswagen Transporters. They had the rear engine vans and the little bigger LT vans that really where just better then anything Volvo was able to compete with. They had the heavy trucks/lorries and let VW have the mid range market covered.
And apparently US vans where popular in Sweden around the 80-90s. And really the everyday Swedish family needed just a 5 door car. So 242 244 and 245 where enough to satisfy the big market. Volvo had plans to made a flat bed truck out of the 740 but it never happen. And today Volvo rely on Renault for vans.... Renault. I rather buy a 3.5 or heavier Volvo lorry before getting a Renault. Juck!
