      @RealCadde Před rokem +2

      They might be busy, but if you at least look at one thing whenever there's time then the number of issues are going to be reduced to just the big jobs.
      Swapping spark plugs can be done quickly enough if it's just that.
      Fixing the seats is also a thing they could have done in under an hour. And they could fix one at a time too.
      When you wait until things break completely you never know when it's going to happen and what the implications will be. And it also means you now HAVE to fix them even though you don't have time to. And when things break completely it can easily turn into a major job, rather than a small maintenance fix.
      Imagine one of the sparkplugs breaking such that stuff falls into the cylinder and wreaks havoc there then goes into the valves to bend/break them which in turn messes up the camshaft/whatever.
      A 20 minute job turned into a 20 hour job.

I pulled the original copper plugs and replaced with Iridium. Gave one to the Toyota Parts Manager for a souvenir. 120 thousands of an inch gap was eye-popping. Mileage went up 3mpg overnight, idle RPM normal and running like a race horse! Now with 313,000 miles and running strong. Engine has never been open! Yet another 11% for the scanner bar !!!

    But it’s the scanner that ‘really’ made the changes …

    I bought a 97 XJ that had the same problem with the bolt holes ripping out. When I was welding washers into the seat, I took the backrest and the foam off, and that square frame for the seat fell apart in two pieces. Some of the welds between the tubing and the formed sheet metal had broken from the extra force leaning back on the seat where it wasn't supported in the front. I noticed it, but my dad had no complaints. He's a bit heavier than I am, so I was the only one pushing myself back enough while pushing on the clutch to notice, but it did take a little persuasion with a hammer to get both sides holding the backrest in the same place. Wouldn't surprise me if the same thing happened to your seats.

    Cool Jeepster. Nice to see O'Reilly's sponsorship. They're building a new store in my little (pop. about 12.5K) desert town. No chain auto parts stores before. Of course, no McDonald's, no Starbucks, no Subway, no Denny's, no Walmart, Lowe's, drug stores or Home Depot either. No tire shops, no supermarkets, no high school, no factories. When we bought our 1st house here, no gas stations, no cable, no natural gas, no traffic lights, no park, no freeway, no police, no medical, no library, no bank. Most important...No crowds and no traffic, no smog.

    Matt, the whole reason yours still runs vs others is the engine. LM7s are the heart of GMT800s. And everyone knows that the more you abuse a GMT800 the stronger it becomes. You essentially have a disguised 800 so it’ll last forever as long as you never do any maintenance.

    A wee tip for Matt ,, find a piece of hose line that your plug ceramic fits snuggly into and use it to seat your plug. Gives you full 360 rotation and a torque free twist which wont damage alloy threads. You can get to tight spots then torque once seated :)

    Okay. I might be wrong here but it looks like the only brake pedal travel stop you have is the brake light switch itself and if that's the case then it's no wonder the old switch kept getting stuck in the open position. You should really have a mechanical pedal travel stop that takes care of the pedal stop and not the switch as using your switch will cause it to wear out prematurely and or stick due to being hammered inward. Take care and I love your video's Matt. 👍😀

    You ahould try the UV light activated resins. They are EPIC. I used them all the tme. Epoxy goes on and will stay wet forever so you can place yor part. Then flip the pen around and hit it with the attached UV light. Instantly solid. Im somewhat of a JB connoisseur and it holds up there with the best of them. Really handy for precision work where you dont want to hold a piece for 20 minutes for the jb to set up lol. Aside from the gamut of jbs i have in my fasteners drawer.m, i always have 2 or 3 of those. Usually is am invisible fix too. Handy on classic car restos

    Iridium plugs are designed for 75000 to 100000 miles. Typically it's recommended to check them at 60000. The iridium plugs can't be gapped because the electrode tips are "fine wire" and break very easily. I usually run the NGK plugs in all my vehicles simply because I've never had a bad one out of the box. All the other brands I have.
