- For this 2 stroke build we turned to our very own Jody Weisel to build a trick KTM 250 SX. With the help of Nekken handlbars, Tusk wheels, TM designs, Factory Effex, Scalvini exhaust, and ESR suspension we were able to build a fire breathing 250 2 stroker. For all the 2 stroke builds head over to motocrossactionmag.com

Evan White That's definitely not the old guy riding lol, that's an mxa test rider..
+Evan White Dude I was about to write the very same comment !!! I think our jaws dropped when he was talking about HIS bike !
+doobyboy21 coormhU
I was thinking same thing old mang rips it if it's him looks like a much younger guy with a bike under him
AFter 40 years, I finally get to hear Jody Weisel's voice. Yay! lol
TheProfessor Fate that's "Jodee Vysell??"(from waay back, also) i,like you, are experiencing this for the first time. why did Super Hunky get the big railroad? I used to love reading his stuff as well as Jody's Box.
I'm not sure. I know he was really ill for a while, but am not sure what he was ailing from or why he stopped writing. I wasn't aware of the fact he got "railroaded". He didn't write for MXA anyway, it was Dirt Bike magazine.
TheProfessor Fate Yeah, I had subsriptions to both, but riding and writing all things dirt bike was what Rick thrived on. He has a blog somewhere and in it laments the path the industry has taken...I might have jumped to an inconclusive conclusion! hard to imagine him stepping down voluntarily. What GREAT memories, though...
Maybe it's worth researching. He's old now, 70 something, so it isn't like he's as relevant as he used to be. The industry changed and the money poured in. That is lamentable, on some levels. On the other hand, this isn't 1970 any longer and places to ride and race have been rapidly diminishing. I think the only way this sport will survive will be greater interest. From that point of view, big business is a friend of motorcycle racing, as I see it.
Agreed upon on all levels; I am glad Jody is still relevant and hope and pray that Rick is ok and is still riding!
Beautiful bike, that's what a real motocross bike looks and sounds like!!
That Bike gives me Goose Bumps!
nothing says bad ass like a hand welded cone pipe
old guys like this are awsome!
More of these vids pls.
That's a beast of a machine.
coolest ktm ever!
Sweet build. Good job Jody
This dude can ride
I love Weisels articles in the magazine.
Wow the music on this video wasn't too bad it wasn't too loud so you can still hear the two stroke good job😁👍✊👌 BBBRRRAAAPPP
Mr. Wiesel I've enjoyed MXA and especially your editorials ever since I was a kid back in the early 70s. My favorite one that I have always remembered was the article about the jelly doughnuts right before motos. I have given up dirt riding due to numerous military deployments Iraq/AFG numerous injuries and now my age. Early 50s. Would really like my Son to experience the absolute joy of motocross .....Please tell me that is you on the bike.......and if so.....Ill know it's not too late. Thank you for what you have done for the sport. No one could have done it justice as you did.
J Dean mad respect your not to old go out there and rip never to late ✊
What a build!!! Wish they made a CR250!
I
2017s will be out in a few months! Might just have to buy one.
Nice bike
Nice👌🏻
I just read all the articles in the print mag this past weekend and its so awesome to actually get to see them in action. I especially dig Basher's 125. I have been wanting one for a while but my friends all say I'm too big (6 feet tall and 170 lbs) and would be out of place on one, but I think they are fun and easy to ride.
I wasn't sure of the power and how it would feel in relation to my size. I was just under the assumption that it would be underpowered.
+João Filipe da Costa LOL if that's the only experience you have you should start on a mini bike
+João Filipe da Costa but can you handle the power? Lol
No way you are too big at 170lbs maybe if someone was like 250lb+ and an experienced rider it might seem underpowered
Drill the case tunnel?
Do we really need that crappy music? I wanna listen to the two stroke, C'mon now.
Amen

interesting cloud patterns. Not they mean anything. You don't see cone section pipes much. I had a nice one on my sons KX60, by PSI. great high end. It also had a DMC chrome moly swing arm that was Much lighter than an aluminum one(Dennis Miller Company) . I had bought Josh Hanson's 1996 Ponca (LL?) winner. It had the damnedest porting, by some one named "RPM". but no one knew who he was. Porting was done c1993-94 and the barrel was purchased by Donny Hanson. It had won an oval track championship for someone in 1994 (?). So,if the reader knows anything of this unusual barrel and pipe, let me know. The bike is in Auberry, Ca area....
What about a honda 116cc after it exited.
fuuuckxxxxingggg siiiiick
would I be able to ride one of these if I'm 5,5 and 110 pounds
You can but you will probs struggle to hang on I would get a 125 cc 2 stroke I'm 5,6 and 135 pound and can hang onto 125 easy👍🏻👍🏻
Ok thx

+Caeden bishop hmm maybe soon. Yeah for sure. What do you currently ride? And do you ride tracks or trails?
+Dat Clutch bc u ride a 450 on fields don't mean shit
you should be fine just get your sag and stuff done
I'm the exact same age and have a KTM 250 SX you're fine👍
Can you give me that "machine" 😰
And the Fastway link changes all the geometry of the bike! Ask your suspension guy! They are junk
cânhs
wtf is a 65 year old doin there
The Fastway Linkage Guard is garbage. It uses cheap Chineese bearings and lowsy tolerances. TOTAL CRAP.
