    🧑 ABOUT ME
My name is Alex, and my passion is teaching music online. I’m a bass player and composer by training and trade, but what I really love to do is teach. I make my living teaching private lessons on Bass, Guitar, Piano, and Ukulele. My favorite thing to teach is theory - helping the students understand the “why” behind the music and empowering them to make better and more informed musical choices. I’m very adamant about teaching technique. This is how you gain power and control over your instrument and ultimately raise the ceiling on where your limits are and where they will be in the future.
I appreciate you participating in learning music with me, either for free through my videos or in private lessons in my virtual studio. Players of all abilities and backgrounds are welcome! There’s no music lesson I don’t love.

Triplets seem more flowing whereas the alternative mentioned seemed to be more clinical in it's strict form. I haven't thought about this stuff in years. Thx Alex!

I'm learning the drums and have not gotten to triples yet but I am trying to learn music notation and I enjoy how detailed you were in your explanations and not just identifying the different notes like most videos :)

@@staleyexplores Anything with a 6/8 or 12/8 time or a swing feel. These come to mind: We Are The Champions, Hallelujah, You're My Best Friend, Your Mother Should Know, Revolution, Julius, Oh Darling, Eliza, My Friend My Friend (this one is particularly interesting) - sorry, lots of Beatles and Queen and Phish in there.

I’m confused on the part you started the triplet on the second note on 1..

Your lesson is good easy to understand but @1:40 the bass clef you are playing an A note your bass clef shows C note when playing straight 8th notes on the main screen before you played it on bass.. On the screen when playing @1:40 with no clef assuming you are playing bass that is an A note. When you @4:25 pickup the guitar you have 2 staffs of music on the screen. I am assuming the bottom is for guitar and that it is not marked with a clef it is for treble clef when you show the guitar part with the bass clef on this screen (showing a C note again not A note) if the bottom is for guitar (no clef given) if that is also bass clef then you have the right note A (wrong octave for guitar) if not I am assuming it is treble clef since the guitar is playing then that is an F note.
I would fix that. For so many music theory tricks them up without being more confused.

@7:49 as well as when you are playing an A note on bass but shows a C note on the screen
Other than that which is very important right notes in sheet music especially for beginners your lesson was good..
