For me this was a PHONOMENAL reinterpretation of the song. Not tacky, or "disco" - a credible, well crafted dance version of the track that lost none of the sentiment, but added a whole new dimension. Plus, this performance is fabulous.

Here's to Stephen Sondheim, composer & lyricist of this song from his '71 'Follies'. He died aged 91 the day after a Thanksgiving 2021 dinner w friends, ending a glorious career that began w 'West Side Story' (Leonard Bernstein wrote the music; Sondheim had to settle for 'just' the lyrics, aged 26!). His like will never pass this way again. Aside from the oft-recorded 'Send In The Clowns', this is the singular exception of one of his songs being thrown pop. Bow your heads. Great effort all around. Despite everyone's shoulders put to the wheel worldwide (mine included), the record fell on deaf ears. It effectively ended the synth-boy duo 'resurrection' of 'legend' female vocalists (Sandie Shaw, Dusty Springfield, Tammy Wynette, etc). Let's face the music, and dance. End of the day, it's all we're ever left with.
the more I watch this the wonder if its actually live its totally perfet yet if its not its the best miming I have ever seen in my life and better than all the other lip syncs she did. You can hear the mic clap ever so slightly when she claps the mic while dancing but thats the only think I am suprised its not a louder noise because she really appears to be whacking the mic when dancing and you'd expect it to be louder but that might be the recording quality.
Finally an actual live vocal performance of this song! Her voice is fantastic!
