"Why should the powerless put their trust and faith into the powerless?" Wow.
Themselves?
This book is Andrea Dworkin's best book, in my view. The chapter on abortion is perhaps the best summary of what the 1960s, the "generation gap," and the "sexual revolution" were all about.
I just thought about Julia Beck today while watching Speaker's Corner. I'd wondered what happened to her since her Fox News interview years ago.
omg I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait! One of my favourite books of hers.

Dworkin inspires my rage very well
I am so infuriated I need to go lay down I think
Thanks for this! Andrea Dworkin's work is so important.
If it's forced, it isn't sex - to the man, but not to the woman
Amazing discussion, I just rediscovered dworkin a couple months ago and read Last Days at Hot Slit. I had stayed away from her work for so long because I believed what other people said about her, that she collaborated with the right wing, that she was wrong, etc.
But after engaging with other "left-wing" groups online, and when I tried to join a political party, I was taken aback when I articulated my issues as a woman. I said that all I ever wanted was to be able to self-sufficient, not to be forced into sex work or be forced to marry, just being able to have a income without being raped. Yet they didn't sympathize with me. For these dudes, it just didn't "compute." And this was a socialist party. FFS...
This pushed me into exploring radical feminism more, and I decided to give Dworkin a chance this time. And I am so glad I did, because her work is amazing. She articulates perfectly how the world works. I am finally learning the words I was never taught to describe my life. My life and experiences were validated for the first time. I am looking forward to reading the rest of her books.
Absolutely brilliant! Thank you!
This is great, thank you!
Sorry I missed the premiere. Great show. Thank you
Good lecture.
Great job explaining how concepts in “Right Wing Women” can illuminate the woman hating culture of the present time.
Yes! Creative intellect is completely ignored. Among others.
Thank you very much !
Thank you, Anne and Julia, for such an amazing, clear (and fun too!) presentation of the book.
WAS THAT A HOLE REFERENCE? "GO ON TAKE EVERYTHING, TAKE EVERYTHING I DARE YOU TO".
Excellent summary. Thank you.
So good!
Wow. Brilliant. I’d better go read it now :)
Is this book rare? It’s like $120 bucks when I look it up to buy it.
Brilliant lecture
Absolutely fantastic…! 💯
Very good point on care homes (hiding away elderly women so that the younger women cannot see what their fate will be. Guess who died in droves of Covid 19? Care home residents) and on encouraging women to reproduce so that a steady supply of workers will be available for the jobs no one wants to do... and about drugging up women. I have heard psychiatrists say that if psychotropes had existed at the end of the 19th and the beginnning of the 20th century, women would never have gotten the right to vot.
Did Julia Beck always have that occasional lilt in her accent?
What’s the solution?

Wouldn't you like to know.
