He can stand yes but if he came into a room with me and couldn't, I'd get on my knees and bow. The man has done too much for the cause to deserve anything less than the utmost respect whether you've encountered Parkinson's in your life or not.

Legend is normally over used, but in this case it is such an understatement. A legend in film and his charitable work.
Also a legend in the courage he has faced his illness and channelled it to benefit others, even if himself may not benefit from the medical research
He can still stand and talk well despite having this horrendus illness for so long. An extraordinarily strong man!

i saw him in an interview his disease was much worse but now he seems so much better!
Saw him at Sundance last year. Received about a three minute standing ovation. Amazed to see him doing so well, with such positivity and lightness. Great man.
I think it all comes down to his mindset. A lot of people would give up but he channeled whatever emotions he felt into a more positive route. There's a reason he's so well regarded and it isn't just his acting skills.
As a Canadian, I'm a both proud and honoured to call this fine gentleman a countryman.
Even at home, he got my standing ovation.

I have tears in my eyes. My dad died of Parkinson's ten years ago this month. Dad considered MJF a hero, as do I. Tomorrow, I planned on sending out an email to friends and family, to suggest we make contributions to MJF's Foundation in Dad's name on the anniversary of his death. I have the symbol for the foundation in orange, tattooed on my wrist. And I will also include a link to this clip.

I love this idea, I think I'll suggest the same for my family, our granddad fought Parkinson's as well. A great way to honor his legacy and support a worthy foundation. MJF still does such public work to keep the disease in the public mind. He's such a huge advocate for research and treatment!

So much will be down to the dosage of dopamine - it is a very tough disease to manage.
what I gathered from watching his Biopic, is that if his meds are working 100 percent, then his speech and his movements are easier for him to manage. But he has to get the timing on the pills just right. If he waits too long in between dosages, it can throw if off.

Knowing PD, he is remarkable. He never stops working at treatment, his speech after nearly 40 years is amazing. What a human being
40 years is rounding up a bit much, I'm turning 40 next year and was born in '85, Fox was diagnosed in '91. But yeah, he's really giving a good fight for how long it's been!
If you put your mind to it, you can acomplish anything. Hats off to you, Michael J Fox.

Not to ever discount his film & television career but he has done so much incredible work through his foundation which has helped thousands of people sufferering with PD. That foundation will be his enduring legacy. Because helping save lives userps any film or television show. My husband thought he had PD for an entire year before finding out he had been misdiagnosed and had only essential tremors. During that year, we read his amazing book that helped both of us get through so many fears and unknowns. I have the deepest gratitude for him and the gifts of time and dedication he has given not only to the entertainment industry but most especially to the people out there still suffering from PD. Thank you Michael. And may God continue to bless you in your work and in your personal life. 💌✨
Time travel is fine and all but when the work you've put in saves lives for future generations you know you've done something right.

Well, this had me in tears. The courage, class & optimism of this man is so amazing. I've been through health hell in the past 18 months, 2 colon, 1 heart & last month, brain surgeries & long recoveries. I am humbled by Michael J. Fox. It makes me feel almost ashamed of my complaints about my pain & physical challenges, but I'll recover with just some impairment. He & his lovely wife are doing great things & living their lives ❤❤❤

Wow. His speech has drastically improved since the last time I heard him speak.
I suspect that will be due to an adjustment in medication - it is this that slurs the speech usually. It's hard to manage effectively.
Michael J Fox was beyond brilliant in both "the Good Wife" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" - if you haven't seen him in either of these, you really ought to. He has an incredible gift for comedy.

Offering you my deep sympathy. I have a very close family member who has it. I don’t think people understand what it really entails to have PD. It’s so much more than “shakiness.” I hope you have been able to find some peace after your loss.
Michael’s Foundation has raised millions for both Research, Awareness, Medical Aid & Treatments for and from Children to Seniors….
Michael took a Disease he has to push for help NOT a Disease he had “ Celebrity Feelings “ for or about. When Michael states Parkinson’s is close to his Heart Michael Figuratively and Literally means it, this is why Michael has been instrumental. Michael knows there will be NO cure for him only for those he leaves behind, a totally unselfish guy….
