We Do Exist

This is a documentary about people with autism and the challenges they face making and keeping friendships. The topic is discussed from the standpoint of a person with autism. Using the train station as a metaphor, it seeks to bring to light the fluidity of relationships in the lives of the people in the spectrum. The train symbolizes the events in the life of a person with autism which brings people into their lives. The train stops at the station where people get off and on the train in an ebb and flow just like the people who come and go in and out of their lives. No one pays attention to the platform, because it’s always there, just like the autistic. It’s as if the platform doesn’t even exist. People with autism, in many ways resemble the platform, except that they do exist. WE DO EXIST.
