I think It was 190% David’s fault, you just don’t get in a heavy equipment machine and swing your “friends” around for kicks! I think when Jeff saw no one got hurt he had a false sense of security that he wouldn’t be swung around by a psychopath so he holds 10% the blame for what he’s been thru with his eye and the fact he’ll always suffer a traumatic brain injury which will lead to a whole host of health and cognitive problems as he ages!
David is like 24/25 years old. He’s went THIS long lacking something essential to human relationships and communication and wonders why when shit got bad for him IT GOT BAD-i.e. Jeff almost dying. No wonder dude. Not to mention that poor girl being assaulted…

Bad idea. Everyone has the blame
Let's take note of David's screen recording. First, David said Jeff was joking when he sent it and he didn't even see it until after the accident. But more importantly- David recorded that 2 hours after Jeff sent the message, and both say Jeff sent that message shortly before the accident. David was the one allowed in the hospital with Jeff, so after seeing Jeff with his eye completely busted and his head cracked open, going in to emergency surgery, David felt compelled to screen record Jeff's joke DM to use it against him later.
OH SHIT really? I was under the impression that David had just gone back and screen recorded that recently. If he screen recorded it the day of the accident that is twisted. I already thought it was fucked up for David to show that, but that's a whole other level.

He recorded that 2 hours after Jeff sent the message that day and has probably been using it as "proof" that it was Jeff's idea.

If this happened to someone who wasn't an influencer a lot of people would be sued and the person operating the excavator would most likely be in jail. I'm more annoyed at the fact that these idiots are making videos shifting blame about this and have had no actual consequences. Like who rented an excavator to David? What business does he have renting an excavator.

You can rent equipment like that pretty easily. I'm sure David or his company had to sign something taking responsibility, especially financial responsibility. If someone went in there and said, "we need an excavator to swing people around," they wouldn't rent out the equipment.
Also, the audacity of David saying that day was the worst thing that's happened to him. My guy, it did not happen to you, you caused the entire event, and imagine how Jeff feels.
I don't think many people understood this. This event traumatized both of them. He nearly killed his friend what's worse than that? He knows what Jeff feels , but david is also allowed to have feelings . How would you feel if you nearly killed your friend. And have people telling you "oh you're not allowed to feel anything because nothing happened to you. "
It's not a competition. Of course Jeff had it 100000x worse, but that doesn't mean it wasn't David's worse day of his life too. It traumatized him too, having that guilt for the rest of his life.

David made it about him. While Jeff holds some responsibility, at the end of the day David went so fast that the automatic stop of the machine turned on and Jeff got hurt. David didn't NEED to go that fast. He could have gone as fast as he did with Corina or those other two. Jeff's an idiot and a jerk with everything that happened with Ethan but David is really trying too hard to make himself look good. Nothing will change the fact that HE was in control of the machine.

Idk if this is true . Idk anything about heavy machinery but on Jeff’s video he said him and David made the automatic stop thing up as an excuse for less backlash to David . @@hanna4379 @Hanna I'm studying mechanical engineering and studied briefly about some machinery. If the automation goes out of safe areas the automation stops. It's a feature in most machinery and independent of the controller. Going the speeds David did is probably moving out of safe areas so that's probably why it stopped. In case he didn't go that fast and didn't trigger the automatic stop then David consciously stopped suddenly and should have KNOWN as common sense that something would have happened to Jeff. Plus to use heavy duty machinery like this you NEED a license. David does not have a license. He should have NOT used an excavator regardless of the fact if there's an automatic stop or not.
But yeah there should be one, the question is if David moved out of the safety areas or not for it to stop. If he did it automatically stopped because the machine was going too fast. If he didn't then he, as someone without a license or common sense, consciously stopped the excavator suddely while Jeff was swinging at high speed... Idk which is worse tbh
So Jeff and David saying it was excuse to avoid backlash was either a lie to save David (which probably means he manipulated Jeff to say it) or David DIDN'T trigger it and stopped it by himself so they don't KNOW if there's an automatic stop or not and just tried to save David from the backlash.

He suffered zero actual consequences from this in his life other than the threat to losing his good image and character in the public. You would have the answer if you actually watched the episode. David said that him and Jeff took a car ride and talked it out. They cried but Jeff forgot to press record. So they did it again. You can't expect to have the same initial response when you're now aware it's purely for the video.

To be fair, I've heard that that happened because the machine has an automatic stop as a safety measure to stop at a certain speed, so David had at that point, tried to speed up.

It doesn't matter who's idea it was! You either agreed to do it or had the idea in the first place. You had control. You didn't have to let/make your "friend" a living breathing human do something dangerous. You didn't have to go that fast. You were told and saw that it wasn't safe yet you still decided it was worth doing/worth putting someone in danger/killing someone. If you know that Jeff is the type of guy that pushes people away to try and seem tough that means you know him well enough to push through and be there for him in the situation that you put him in or at the very least had a hand in putting him in.

And he decided to do this with no medical staff around and noone around who knew anything about excavators or excavator safety. He put people on said excavator. A machine not meant for such actions. He used a dangerous machine and proceeded to use it for things that it was not for. The fact the Jeff was the only one to get seriously injured in this situation is pure luck. David is doing nothing but feeling sorry for himself and saying that this was "the worst thing to ever happen to him" when he should feel extremely luck.

Great takes as always Callum. I watched David's podcast and I did like seeing real emotions from him. I believe him when he says he's been depressed/suicidal and wants to work on empathy, etc. BUT I do not believe David when he says he's taking responsibility. If David realized it's his fault then why show that dm from Jeff, especially if that was the "promise"... David said he knows it's his fault but then shows that?? why? Ultimately the "he said she said" stuff doesn't matter. Whosever idea it was, David was the producer of the video and failed to get proper trained stunt/medical people involved. Jeff is right when he says David is victim blaming. Just like he did with Seth. David still fails to understand that he's cultivated a coercive environment that leads to people stepping outside of their comfort zones in exchange for clout. I hope that if David is serious about learning empathy that he reflects on these actions, and maybe losing to Jeff in court will be the first step towards that.

It’s not just Jeff losing his eyeball he almost lost his life 🤦♀️ What you don’t understand is that it’s not an accident it’s gross negligence on David’s part. Its David’s video, David’s production, David planned the shoot, David without being trained to operate the excavator
(a dangerous machinery) did anyways and almost killed Jeff. In a court of law in CA David would be held accountable for gross negligence and he’s lucky Jeff didn’t die otherwise he would be charged with manslaughter.

What matters is that David swung a man around without certification on a crane with one hand while also filming. If Jeff would have died david would already be in jail. Obviously David is in the wrong but Jeff is a common thug. Just because he did a few fitness videos does not change that. It's evident with how he's acting with Ethan. I don't blame David at all for not tracking him down to see how he's doing. I do blame him for not paying the medical expenses and holding his word, putting Jeff into debt after everything that has happened. But to not wish him well after his surgery to me just seems like he's trying to distance himself from a toxic person.

I find it interesting that David is starting to be a lot more vocal after Jeff’s dispute with Ethan. It’s like he thinks it’s the perfect time to twist the narrative now that Jeff started to get some backlash for his mistreatment of Ethan. Granted Jeff has become more vocal in his disdain for David’s lack of empathy and accountability, but why the hell would David sit on info quietly that could supposedly clear his name when he was losing a ton of money and good standing. The moment david explains his side and how he feels, it’s turned around on him. An excavator is a huge machine, and a dangerous machine. Meaning if Jeff didn’t feel comfortable with it, he could’ve said no. And as for David, he should KNOW dangerous things happen on his vlogs, and that was extremely dangerous. David did take most accountability even if he shouldn’t (which I’m not sure if him or Jeff is being truthful). Meanwhile Jeff, making jokes abt it, and then when he gets called out he actually feels angry. It’s both of their faults. Not just David’s. ‘It may have been Jeff’s idea but David was in control’. Excavators are seemingly auto controlled. I’m not sure idk how all that works.

Jeff isn’t saying David needs to take All of the responsibility. He didn’t want the narrative painted that Jeff is crazy and stupid and it was all his idea, which is exactly what David is doing. Instead of just saying we both fucked up david didn’t like how more people sided with Jeff so he wants to change the narrative with his own documentary.. How does David not realise how bad he makes himself sound in his own podcast? Even before watching Jeffs response, David said so many things that seem like huge red flags. He's talking about empathy like its an idea that just been discovered that no one knows about yet, rather than something that most people just do, like why is he explaining what empathy is? And saying that it was the worst thing thats ever happened to *him* , rather than saying its the worst incident he's ever seen or worst thing to ever happen to a friend or something like that. He really isnt making the case he think he is making.

As soon as David's podcast started, he should have taken his hat off, looked straight into the camera and said, "Jeff, I'm sorry. That accident ruined and changed your life forever...and I'm responsible. I'd do anything to change what happened, but I can't. I love you and I'm sorry." That's all he has to do. Instead these guys are changing the story and blurring Jeff's words. It just shows that they aren't real friends and don't know a thing about Jeff and who he is as a person. If David doesn't deserve blame then who does? Jason is such a pathetic simp for David that it's embarrassing.
I can not stand either David or Jeff, but the bottom line is that Jeff got injured because of his & David’s stupidity thinking that doing something like this without the proper training wouldn’t end badly. They are both at fault. David shouldn’t definitely keep paying for the hospital bills since it was for his video but this doesn’t excuse Jeff from being a fucking asshole in general.
The One thing with the proof is that he probably doesn't want to show them because he needs something for court, u never want to show all your cards

1. Jeff sees 50cents post and talks to David
2. Karina swings on excavator
3. Jeff does it too
But then... Why Karina did it first? This whole situation doesn't make sense to me. But also - after situation with H3 I can't be empathetic toward both of them. I only wonder if injury messed with his brain and that's when he became so aggressive
Almost anyone who deals with H3 ends up being attacked by them. It's their business model.

A lot of people aren’t taking into consideration David drove the excavator for 6 hours!! Only for Jeff to get on and for him to crank it. I’m pretty sure if Jeff broke his arm or something that would heal In a few months he’d be happy to have that footage. He just didn’t expect he’d nearly kill Jeff.
How could David claim it’s Jeff’s idea when he says he didn’t see it until after he smashed his head in, you completely cut that out?

Here's the thing.. regardless of who's idea it was, the whole problem was how David handled it after the fact. Had he just shown actual remorse or made any attempt to transparently make things right.. maybe things would be different. It's like ridiculous that he even expects us to believe this crap when he clearly didn't give af until he realized this wasn't going away. He was obviously planning on just ignoring it until it's forgotten, like everything else he's done over the years.

You offered to pay his medical expenses. So pay them. Get a better or different assistant if needed to help negotiate or be on top of any payments. Be an adult and pay your bills. Thier is no excuses what so ever. He said he would pay for medical issues. He shouldve sued him earlier so that he would be court mandated to cover medical expensez and on time. Lesson learned glad he is now. But doesnt make a difference. He gave him life long injuries he promised to cover and is not paying his bills.

I'm questioning the insurance issue. What kind of liability insurance would cover a stunt (professional stunt) unless it was worked out with detailed specifications beforehand? I know they sell high-risk insurance but you have to get the event pre-approved by the insurance. Just the fact that they were using heavy equipment (an excavator) in a dangerous way, without the stunt performer wearing any protective gear, and certainly not meant to be used in that way and in the water. I rewatched that video and with the other half of that rope swinging, Jeff is lucking he didn't end up choking himself to death. Utterly stupid!

They all hang with same group of people. David contributed to SA and worse and he actually almost killed someone. Its crazy cause Jeff has done criminal time in the past and David despite everything has never been charged with a crime and only is now finally getting sued. I dont like Jeff but what David is doing in this podcast doesn't change what he did and that is he still victimn blaming all these people hes hurt. It doesn't matter the kind of person Jeff is. David doesn't owe it to him to talk to him but he does owe him medical expenses and not talking about him in publicly using victimn blaming at all when he almost killed him. Jeff is going through stages of grief. David should have more empathy that this trauma is worse when the perpatrator is saying its your fault

Edit to add: It's possible they aren't showing anything because there's potential legal tension? Maybe there isn't a lawsuit yet, but there could be one on the horizon. Jeff did mention it they could take it down that route, so keeping that evidence private is a legal decision?
Or maybe Jeff's still holding back because he does want to move on, but David keeps bringing it up. I mean, if David's releasing a documentary where he allegedly blames Jeff for the incident, that's kind of putting Jeff in a position where he has to continue to deal with this trauma. Maybe if David does release that documentary, Jeff will release everything. But it could be Jeff wants to try to move on, at least from David's role in the incident, and he can't because David keeps talking about it.
Either way, it's hard to not put the blame on David here. At the end of the day, he was in control. Not just in control of the excavator, but also the vlog squad. He controlled what they were doing for filming. He had a responsibility to keep his employees (sure they're friends, but let's be real, they're his employees first) safe-not encourage or enable unsafe behavior-and he failed to do that.

David can blame Jeff all day long. And even if it was his idea, David was controlling the machine. He decided to go fast and stop hard to where Jeff smacked into the machine and got hurt really bad. Jeff is accountable for going along with it knowing his friend “always takes things too far !” but David decided to do what David does and go too far !!! They are both responsible for what happened but David holds more.

I think the things here is that Jeff doesn’t get that whether or not he had a hand in the plan it doesn’t change what happened. I feel that Jeff didn’t want his name attached to “blame” so that he stays the victim but he still is. Since the kardashian conversation I’ve had a weird feeling like there was more but I had no reason to go against Jeff but lately he has shown a different side and it makes me second guess a lot of it. No matter what- David was still responsible for the accident period. However I think Jeff has been telling partial truths and I fully believe things would have worked in his favor if he wouldn’t have gone on an eff David tour and given so much free promo to a documentary that we wouldn’t even know about otherwise… he should have let David’s words speak for themselves cuz him getting “ahead of it” just makes me question more
