correct, she made 2 mistakes, not turning away after cocking the unit & not holding her breath for 10 secs after inhaling the med.to breath out slowly, I'm sure she KNOWS it but just forgot to mention it. she should RE-DO this video and do it properly being that she is a doctor and all. too. Plus she herself has asthma, so I'm sure she does it twice daily. And its in the instructional insert.

Normally other inhalers make a sound or a taste or sth if you inhalte, this one does not give any sign that it worked?

Amazing, I've been using this on and off, my new doctor told me today make sure your rinse your mouth after you use it. I told him, you're the first DR to tell me this information.
What time of the day should do this?bcos I do this at night before I go to bed around 11pm.thanks
5 seconds on more holding your breath after one puff, please do not omit this step as it is very crucial than any other steps.

Interesting that its dry powder. Is there no concern that this could damage lungs over time? I always thought that any type of solid dust entering the lungs was dangerous.
the powder is aerosolized during inhaation
It's very fine powder does not damage your lungs if you inhaled correctly. So no worries with damaging lungs. One more important aspect that it is important to wipe mouthpiece atleast once a week with clean cloth or tissue paper as over a week moisture accumulating on mouthpiece and dry power gets clogged up on mouthpiece and you will not correctly get your dose. So, it is recommended to wipe mouthpiece without loading medicine. So whatever leftover on mouthpiece gets removed before next dose.

Good video, good doc however, she forgot to say that we have to breath In Away from the disk (2:20) ...Hold breath for 10 sec (if possible) & Breath Out (slowly) & again, Away from the disk & then do the rinsing of mouth /or brushing of teeth & some drink water after all that, too.... To avoid that Thrush (mouth/tongue infection).
EVERYTHING I've read states to inhale with Diskus level, no head tipping back. Even the advair insert states this!
What about holding it for 10 seconds and blow out

how do you use the trigger to take a second puff, i have been told to take two puff twice per day but received no instruction at all, thats why i have come to youtube.
lorcis1 Just in case your pharmacist or doctor hasn’t told you, it’s once in the morning and the second in the evening about 10-12 hours from each other. So say you take it at 8AM then the next puff take it at 8PM/20:00
Also, when you inhale the puff move your mouth away from the discus as you hold your breath for 10 seconds before exhaling.

lorcis1 well that’s technically twice a day just once in the morning the other in the evening, if you inhale two puffs at the same time that’s a lot of steroids in one time. If you blow your air back into the diskus then you’ll mess up the device or clog it in the mouthpiece which with a clogged diskus sucks.

I decided to use it when brushing my teeth when I would be spitting out anyway. BTW, I am an adults senior citizen.
If your child isn’t old enough to swish, they definitely aren’t old enough for this inhaler. My five almost six year old has one. I’m not sure he’s getting all meds. But he can swish waisted meds. These should only be prescribed to older children. 359.00 of waisted money.
