Good job. I just watched a video of a woman who spends thousands on LV and Chanel and neither of those bags are as nice as D&B. The leather is much thinner on those ridiculously expensive bags, while D&B are really quality made.

You're a doll and I enjoyed watching someone who shares my love and enthusiasm over this bag. I'm 5' 10" and the long strap is even too long for me so I doubled the strap. Doubling it makes it the perfect length for shoulder carrying.
Oh it is such an amazing bag! I love her so much! She also led me to Dooney and Bourke as a brand which I have fallen head over heels for haha. I love that you can double up the strap. It makes it so much easier to wear :)
You can tell this is a high end leather, by the sound. I have a Donney and Bourke and they smelling AMAZING! The older they get, the better they get. QVC carries Dooney and Bourke and often times you can get them on 4, 5 , or even on 6 easy pays. That's how I got mine.

Oh, I just love florentine leather! I have a large tote in florentine, and it spent 3 years in my closet because it was too big and heavy. Well, the other day I took it out, and OMG! It had darkened a little and had a special glow. Wow, just wow! Needless to say, it has become my favorite bag. The satchel is also very beautiful, and you got a great deal. Great video!

I finally got my first natural Flo Satchel!! LOooooooove it! I already had black, red, mushroom, taupe and chestnut, which are all beautiful colors, but I still wanted a natural. I found it pre-owned, so it already has a beautiful patina. There's something about this natural color...incredible.

I bought this bag in the one that's a step smaller about three weeks ago, and love it. TJ Maxx had it on clearance for $150, and the raspberry color is gorgeous. For the first few days that I had it, my entire car smelled like leather. I would put it against any luxury brand.

I loved seeing how happy you are with your new bag! My best friend surprised me with the Florentine medium Elisa in the natural colour. It's so beautiful, smells divine, and feels so divinely soft that it's hard not to caress it all the time! I found mine by calling an outlet store, then asked my friend to look at it and pick it up for me and I'd pay over the phone. However, my friend said to wait to pay. My bag was also 50%off because it had been the store sample, so it had been handled wanted had some scuffs. The lady in the store showed my friend how to remove the scuffs by gently rubbing them in a circular motion with the dust bag itself! It works perfectly, and the scuffs are mostly gone. I notice this butter soft leather scuffs very easily, so it gives me peace of mind to know I can keep her looking good! My best friend ended up paying for the Elisa and also grabbing a wine coloured crossbody because he knew I'd really been wanting one of those for awhile, and it too was over 50% off!!! He didn't tell me that part, just bought them both and mailed them to me as a huge gift!!! I couldn't have afforded to get them both. I hope you continue to enjoy your beautiful find, and that the dust bag tip can be of use to you and any other Dooney lovers!

Purse n all Style I was told to use the dust cover to rub out any scratches from the Florentine Leather, by a woman who works at Dooney & Bourke’s outlet in Orlando, Florida. As of yet, I have not tried it, since the minor scratch on my Florentine came out just by rubbing it with my finger. I am definitely going to give the clerk’s suggestion a try.

I want a Florentine Satchel so bad but just haven't pulled the trigger. I'm getting to the point in my collection where I might want to let something go if I get something new. I love your new bag and can't wait to see all of the adventures she goes on.
I finally broke down and brought a Dooney medium satchel - didn't get the Florentine but got the Oberland and Vachetta medium satchel off the ILOVEDOONEY site. It is 15" long. So progressing towards the Florentine (the only one I got was a Florentine side zip wallet wristlet). No one has posted a Oberland satchel but it is the same as Florentine (no pebbling, smooth type leather). I am done, have over 30 Dooneys here and have to stop. I could have purchased a good Chanel quilted leather to replace my small one. Recently received a Louis Vuitton satchel with the Japanese artist doing the happy faces on the flower petals so no LVs will I ever need. Thanks for posting your videos, I already left you a thumb up on this when I first saw it a couple of years ago, giggles cause it's 2019 already. Stay happy and stay safe.

I just found this bag at tjmaxx for $180! I almost walked away from her because she has quite a few scratches but I'm so glad I didn't! Very helpful video. I cant wait to try to get the scratches to fade on mine

Are there any tips you can give me.. You know how the zipper part kinda hangs over? Well mine is brand new got the small satchel and that part kinda sticks up, making it really difficult to use the hand straps. This is my first lux bag. Can I train it to stay down? Or will it happen over time?

I received the bag I exchanged because of defective leather in the Natural Florentine Medium Satchel we discussed. I replaced it with Black Black rather than Natural. My question to you pertains to the leather itself. Should a D&B Florentine satchel be perfectly smooth or pebbly? My replacement bag is pebbly from top to bottom. At least it is uniform. I am keeping it because even though the finish is not what I paid for, the bag is handsome, the leather is textured but soft, and I have already waited a month and did not want to wait anymore.
The Florentine leather can be smooth or pebbled, however I think it "should" be smooth and some people only want it smooth. Both of my Florentines, I also have it in the black, have some pebbling on them. I am not bothered at all by it but to some it is a deal breaker. It all comes down to if it bugs you or not. There is also the Florentine silhouette in Samba leather which is pebbled throughout (Mama Beech on youtube has a lot of them if you think it may be a Samba satchel and not a Florentine? I can't really tell without pics) I would hope that they sent you the right satchel though. I have a more close up video of my Florentines if you wanted to compare the leather. Actually just browsing through my vids I have quite a few Handbag Day in the Life videos that would show the bag more up close as well as my wear and tear video. Hopefully all of this info I am spewing is actually helpful to you. In my opinion as a bag hoarder lol as long as you love it that is all that matters! Also waiting over a month is brutal! Glad you did finally get a replacement though!

I'm lusting for that bag! I own the smaller version in black, but now I want the larger size. There is something about that Florentine leather in the color Natural. I also own the Florentine Smith Bag in Natural and just like with your satchel the complements are endless. I think it's because you just don't see them on everyone the way you do with LV Speedys and Neverfulls, which I love BTW!

The Bay used to carry Dooney but they unfortunately they don't anymore. The only way to find it in Canada now would be the preloved market or you may luck out and find one at a Nordstrom Rack or Saks of 5th. There is also a facebook group specifically for Canadian Dooney lovers and Florentine satchels pop up for sale on that group from time to time as well. Yes, mine is the Medium, which is the largest size they make of the Florentine satchel, its confusing haha. I wish you luck on the hunt! I definitely still have this bag and yes she really only gets better with use. She still takes my breath away every time I take her out :)

Actually, you can put leather lotion on the bag. I personally contacted Dooney and Bourke and they couldn't offer me an explanation as why not use leather lotion. The leather of that bag is no diffrent than other leathers. Just a beautiful cowhide leather. True Florentine leather is very soft to the touch and has a suede like feel to it. Whatever you do, do not use saddle soap.
I believe it is the same, I've seen it called different names from time to time as well which can be confusing. It is an amazing bag, the smell, the color and it just gets better with age :) Thank you so much for watching!

I feel your pain, when the Bay stopped carrying Dooney I was heart broken. I find all my Dooneys on the preloved market now. There is a facebook group for Dooney lovers that is strictly for Canadians that you could check out. Those ladies post some amazing bags for sale and the prices are all in Canadian dollars and I have seen a few Florentine satchels pop up. The group is "Dooney & Bourke Canada Buy, Sell, Trade & Chat" if you wanted to check it out :)
I have been watching a lot of videos of designers handbags and I have been really impressed with the higher end Dooney bags. If you put these bags next to a chanel or LV bag they literally outshine those expensive bags. I think that is why none of the high end designer collectors ever mention D and B. They know that the comparison is very revealing as to how much some of those really expensive bags are a rip off.
Nothing beats a Dooney, they have great bags, great price points and they don't do constant price increases and I haven't found the quality to be hit or miss like on some bags. I also keep hearing about the quality of higher end designer bags continuing to decline but Dooney seems to be very consistent with their quality and the materials they use. Their bags are made to wear while some more expensive bags seem so delicate for the price its hard to wear them day to day. I think that is why "once you go Dooney, you go Looney" haha. excellent choice,I have this in the natural,brown ,black,chestnut and a red ostrich,it is a very classy work horse,I cant go an hour without someone complementing me on this bag,it is supposed to look aged, that's why the soft leather scratches,but you can rub them down,I was surprised at how affordable these were,the older they get the better,I promise I will post pictures on IG, when I get a moment, use this beautiful bag in the very best of health xoxo MJ

I bought this bag in the one that's a step smaller about three weeks ago, and love it. TJ Maxx had it on clearance for $150, and the raspberry color is gorgeous.
For the first few days that I had it, my entire car smelled like leather. I would put it against any luxury brand.

I'm so happy for you getting this deal. The natural colour is gorgeous! I also got this bag at The Bay in TO for half price. I couldn't believe my eyes! There were only a few scratches which I have rubbed and conditioned so they're barely there. Mine is in chestnut and I just love it!

I loved seeing how happy you are with your new bag! My best friend surprised me with the Florentine medium Elisa in the natural colour. It's so beautiful, smells divine, and feels so divinely soft that it's hard not to caress it all the time! I found mine by calling an outlet store, then asked my friend to look at it and pick it up for me and I'd pay over the phone. However, my friend said to wait to pay. My bag was also 50%off because it had been the store sample, so it had been handled wanted had some scuffs. The lady in the store showed my friend how to remove the scuffs by gently rubbing them in a circular motion with the dust bag itself! It works perfectly, and the scuffs are mostly gone. I notice this butter soft leather scuffs very easily, so it gives me peace of mind to know I can keep her looking good! My best friend ended up paying for the Elisa and also grabbing a wine coloured crossbody because he knew I'd really been wanting one of those for awhile, and it too was over 50% off!!! He didn't tell me that part, just bought them both and mailed them to me as a huge gift!!! I couldn't have afforded to get them both. I hope you continue to enjoy your beautiful find, and that the dust bag tip can be of use to you and any other Dooney lovers!

Use the dust bag to rub out the scratches. It works perfectly.

Purse n all Style I was told to use the dust cover to rub out any scratches from the Florentine Leather, by a woman who works at Dooney & Bourke’s outlet in Orlando, Florida. As of yet, I have not tried it, since the minor scratch on my Florentine came out just by rubbing it with my finger. I am definitely going to give the clerk’s suggestion a try.
I use a plain white microfiber cloth. I wouldn't risk the blue dustbag on lighter colors.

I finally broke down and brought a Dooney medium satchel - didn't get the Florentine but got the Oberland and Vachetta medium satchel off the ILOVEDOONEY site. It is 15" long. So progressing towards the Florentine (the only one I got was a Florentine side zip wallet wristlet). No one has posted a Oberland satchel but it is the same as Florentine (no pebbling, smooth type leather). I am done, have over 30 Dooneys here and have to stop. I could have purchased a good Chanel quilted leather to replace my small one. Recently received a Louis Vuitton satchel with the Japanese artist doing the happy faces on the flower petals so no LVs will I ever need. Thanks for posting your videos, I already left you a thumb up on this when I first saw it a couple of years ago, giggles cause it's 2019 already. Stay happy and stay safe.
Congratulations on your new medium satchel! I haven't seen the Oberland version, it sounds beautiful though! I'll have to check it out. Is it still as heavy as Florentine or is it a bit lighter? Are there any tips you can give me.. You know how the zipper part kinda hangs over? Well mine is brand new got the small satchel and that part kinda sticks up, making it really difficult to use the hand straps. This is my first lux bag. Can I train it to stay down? Or will it happen over time?

I received the bag I exchanged because of defective leather in the Natural Florentine Medium Satchel we discussed. I replaced it with Black Black rather than Natural. My question to you pertains to the leather itself. Should a D&B Florentine satchel be perfectly smooth or pebbly? My replacement bag is pebbly from top to bottom. At least it is uniform. I am keeping it because even though the finish is not what I paid for, the bag is handsome, the leather is textured but soft, and I have already waited a month and did not want to wait anymore.
The Florentine leather can be smooth or pebbled, however I think it "should" be smooth and some people only want it smooth. Both of my Florentines, I also have it in the black, have some pebbling on them. I am not bothered at all by it but to some it is a deal breaker. It all comes down to if it bugs you or not. There is also the Florentine silhouette in Samba leather which is pebbled throughout (Mama Beech on youtube has a lot of them if you think it may be a Samba satchel and not a Florentine? I can't really tell without pics) I would hope that they sent you the right satchel though. I have a more close up video of my Florentines if you wanted to compare the leather. Actually just browsing through my vids I have quite a few Handbag Day in the Life videos that would show the bag more up close as well as my wear and tear video. Hopefully all of this info I am spewing is actually helpful to you. In my opinion as a bag hoarder lol as long as you love it that is all that matters!

I'm lusting for that bag! I own the smaller version in black, but now I want the larger size. There is something about that Florentine leather in the color Natural. I also own the Florentine Smith Bag in Natural and just like with your satchel the complements are endless. I think it's because you just don't see them on everyone the way you do with LV Speedys and Neverfulls, which I love BTW!

They make such beautiful, well made and affordable bags, I am really surprised they are not more popular. I do highly recommend the large in natural it is truly a Mary Poppins bag! The Bay used to carry Dooney but they unfortunately they don't anymore. The only way to find it in Canada now would be the preloved market or you may luck out and find one at a Nordstrom Rack or Saks of 5th. There is also a facebook group specifically for Canadian Dooney lovers and Florentine satchels pop up for sale on that group from time to time as well.

Actually, you can put leather lotion on the bag. I personally contacted Dooney and Bourke and they couldn't offer me an explanation as why not use leather lotion. The leather of that bag is no diffrent than other leathers. Just a beautiful cowhide leather. True Florentine leather is very soft to the touch and has a suede like feel to it. Whatever you do, do not use saddle soap.
I used something called Leather Therapy and it was fine!

I feel your pain, when the Bay stopped carrying Dooney I was heart broken. I find all my Dooneys on the preloved market now. There is a facebook group for Dooney lovers that is strictly for Canadians that you could check out. Those ladies post some amazing bags for sale and the prices are all in Canadian dollars and I have seen a few Florentine satchels pop up. The group is "Dooney & Bourke Canada Buy, Sell, Trade & Chat" if you wanted to check it out :)
I have been watching a lot of videos of designers handbags and I have been really impressed with the higher end Dooney bags. If you put these bags next to a chanel or LV bag they literally outshine those expensive bags. I think that is why none of the high end designer collectors ever mention D and B. They know that the comparison is very revealing as to how much some of those really expensive bags are a rip off.
Nothing beats a Dooney, they have great bags, great price points and they don't do constant price increases and I haven't found the quality to be hit or miss like on some bags. I also keep hearing about the quality of higher end designer bags continuing to decline but Dooney seems to be very consistent with their quality and the materials they use. Their bags are made to wear while some more expensive bags seem so delicate for the price its hard to wear them day to day. I think that is why "once you go Dooney, you go Looney" haha. excellent choice,I have this in the natural,brown ,black,chestnut and a red ostrich,it is a very classy work horse,I cant go an hour without someone complementing me on this bag,it is supposed to look aged, that's why the soft leather scratches,but you can rub them down,I was surprised at how affordable these were,the older they get the better,I promise I will post pictures on IG, when I get a moment, use this beautiful bag in the very best of health xoxo MJ
