I just ordered my first medium after wanting one for years. Most of my bags are the size of the small, but for this style, I just prefer the proportions on the medium. It just looks “right.”
Thank you Kate... I loove the larger satchel, the smalls are just too small for me. I wish the opening was a little bit wider. I knew I'd be off and on with the Journaling, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money, that's why I decided to make my own cut out stickers. I like the option of being able to pick and choose my own inspiration versus pre-stocked. It also gives me the option of personalizing it the way I want to. This video actually gave me the motivation to start back journaling. 😃. Love your planner as well. You are so dedicated with it. That way, you don't have to worry about babying it. I got my Natural Clayton pre-loved, that's a lot of leather to have to baby. :) That's the only bag I've ever gotten that way. Thanks. When I hear small, I think little but the bag is actually a decent size. It's not really that much smaller. Guess it just depends on how you use it. Good info. When you see it online it's harder to judge just how big or small. Then you end up with something that's too small or too heavy and you're stuck. Nice to know I can spend less and get what I need

You are right, the opening in the small satchel is rather limited, compared to the generous opening of the medium! I loved this video. You did a great comparison. I have the small satchel in natural and I love it but not thrilled with the opening. I wish they had somehow extended the zipper. The handbag is heavy but it is leather and that just comes with carrying a leather handbag. I found you from Ivana's and Laurie's channels. I'm a new subscriber. Hope your day is wonderful!
Yes, I agree! It would have been perfect if the opening was a tad larger. I prefer the larger size for that reason alone. I hate having to arrange how I out things in and how I take them out. I have a Florentine Satchel but it has red on the tassels & interior has a reddish/pink material inside, which I have seen in other Dooney bags but I think is strange in this satchel. Anyone ever seen one like this with the Red (instead of green) trim tassels?

Hey there... Thanks you, I'm glad the video was helpful. I say the perfect first bag would be the small in this style and maybe start off with Chestnut. Its a medium brown and doesn't require much babying. Natural is beautiful as well but for a first bag, I don't think is a good idea because it can get dirt and stained if not careful. you wouldn't want that to be your first Dooney experience. But since you wear black a lot, I would say black is a good start as well. Can't go wrong the that either. My next choice would be something in the Blue family like navy or Denim. The mini is a bit tiny to me. I'd love to know what you decide. PTB I recently purchased a DB Florentine satchel from TJMaxx at a highly discounted price ($150) however she was a little misused and mistreated and has some very light scratches throughout as well as some dullness to a couple of spots. I noticed you use the Apple Care product on your florentines. Being that mine is the same color as yours, natural, what can you suggest I use to clean her up and get some life back into her "dry" areas? Thank you!! PS Love watching your informative videos :)
+Beauty411xo Oh wow... $150 is a great price. I would suggest the Apple Care Leather Care Conditioner. I use it on all my Flo's and it just brings them back to life. I used it on the bags in this video. I just apply a thin layer with a soft cloth or old sock, let it soak in for about an hour and buff with the sock. You will definitely see a difference and it doesn't change the color of the bag form what I've experienced. It may look a tad (small tad) darker but it only does that because the leather is moisturized. I live by that stuff. I'm so glad you enjoy my videos and thanks so much for watching and commenting. I have a question for you. How do u get the weird smell from the stanwich florentine satchel. I bought one a while ago and tried to sell it on eBay valet. They are returning because of the smell. It still has tags and I would like to get the smell out and use it myself. It's in the chestnut. I know the stanwich has a weird smell. Is there a reason some bags have the strong petroleum smell and not leather. I know it's real. Thanks!!
Hi there! Hummm... I have se bags that have a strong leather smell such as my Chestnut, Natural, Mushroom, Marine, then I have others that have a faded leather smell such as my Bone, Ivy, Red, etc. but it's not a bad smell at all. I think it's how they are processed but not 100% sure. I've never had where the smell was unbearable or smelled bad. I would say try putting a box of baking soda in it and close it up for a few days. Maybe that would help? Keep in mind that these bags are made from real animal skin, so I'm thinking that may have something to do with it as well but ya never know how some animal skin can react to chemicals and processing. Sorry, I don't have a good answer but I've never had that issue before. I hope this helps a little. If you try the baking soda, I'd love to know how it works out for you! xoxo... PTB 😍

That way, you don't have to worry about babying it. I got my Natural Clayton pre-loved, that's a lot of leather to have to baby. :) That's the only bag I've ever gotten that way. Thanks. When I hear small, I think little but the bag is actually a decent size. It's not really that much smaller. Guess it just depends on how you use it. Good info. When you see it online it's harder to judge just how big or small. Then you end up with something that's too small or too heavy and you're stuck. Nice to know I can spend less and get what I need

You are right, the opening in the small satchel is rather limited, compared to the generous opening of the medium! I loved this video. You did a great comparison. I have the small satchel in natural and I love it but not thrilled with the opening. I wish they had somehow extended the zipper. The handbag is heavy but it is leather and that just comes with carrying a leather handbag. I found you from Ivana's and Laurie's channels. I'm a new subscriber. Hope your day is wonderful!
Yes, I agree! It would have been perfect if the opening was a tad larger. I prefer the larger size for that reason alone. I hate having to arrange how I out things in and how I take them out. Even after all that... The bag is still gorgeous.

I have a Florentine Satchel but it has red on the tassels & interior has a reddish/pink material inside, which I have seen in other Dooney bags but I think is strange in this satchel. Anyone ever seen one like this with the Red (instead of green) trim tassels?

Hey there... Thanks you, I'm glad the video was helpful. I say the perfect first bag would be the small in this style and maybe start off with Chestnut. Its a medium brown and doesn't require much babying. Natural is beautiful as well but for a first bag, I don't think is a good idea because it can get dirt and stained if not careful. you wouldn't want that to be your first Dooney experience. But since you wear black a lot, I would say black is a good start as well. Can't go wrong the that either. My next choice would be something in the Blue family like navy or Denim. The mini is a bit tiny to me. I'd love to know what you decide. PTB I recently purchased a DB Florentine satchel from TJMaxx at a highly discounted price ($150) however she was a little misused and mistreated and has some very light scratches throughout as well as some dullness to a couple of spots. I noticed you use the Apple Care product on your florentines. Being that mine is the same color as yours, natural, what can you suggest I use to clean her up and get some life back into her "dry" areas? Thank you!! PS Love watching your informative videos :)
+Beauty411xo Oh wow... $150 is a great price. I would suggest the Apple Care Leather Care Conditioner. I use it on all my Flo's and it just brings them back to life. I used it on the bags in this video. I just apply a thin layer with a soft cloth or old sock, let it soak in for about an hour and buff with the sock. You will definitely see a difference and it doesn't change the color of the bag form what I've experienced. It may look a tad (small tad) darker but it only does that because the leather is moisturized. I live by that stuff. I'm so glad you enjoy my videos and thanks so much for watching and commenting. I have a question for you. How do u get the weird smell from the stanwich florentine satchel. I bought one a while ago and tried to sell it on eBay valet. They are returning because of the smell. It still has tags and I would like to get the smell out and use it myself. It's in the chestnut. I know the stanwich has a weird smell. Is there a reason some bags have the strong petroleum smell and not leather. I know it's real. Thanks!!
Hi there! Hummm... I have se bags that have a strong leather smell such as my Chestnut, Natural, Mushroom, Marine, then I have others that have a faded leather smell such as my Bone, Ivy, Red, etc. but it's not a bad smell at all. I think it's how they are processed but not 100% sure. I've never had where the smell was unbearable or smelled bad. I would say try putting a box of baking soda in it and close it up for a few days. Maybe that would help? Keep in mind that these bags are made from real animal skin, so I'm thinking that may have something to do with it as well but ya never know how some animal skin can react to chemicals and processing. Sorry, I don't have a good answer but I've never had that issue before. I hope this helps a little. If you try the baking soda, I'd love to know how it works out for you! xoxo... PTB 😍
