This is a great video in which Mutabaruka is trying to educate ppl on Rastafari livity. Rastafari is not a bunch of rules and regulations you follow blindly but a livity in which you must look within yourself to define how to live it for yourself. Rastafari is not a religion. Those who treat it as such by insisting that you follow everything the King does without using your own mind should just turn Christian and done. Rastafari was never based on following the King or his religion blindly. If thatâs your belief you must show us where the King said this. Follow your heart to find your divine self.

Even if the man claimed to have a religion of some sort that is still wrong following him or his religion blindly or not. There is only one G-d and thatâs Hashem. Hey brothers, thank you for this. I was born on the island Anguilla and raised Anglican Christians. Iâve started researching my history going back to my tribes and east Africa, and this has led to an interest in understanding the origin of Christianity in the Caribbean. Heâs 100% right. What it so hear about this Iâve been reading it in the historian books on how all of these ideologies came to be and what I noticed you have to go back. Research how religion was created the how we came to be, and I bet you would find tour self in a spiritual place. Donât just stop at a spiritual home. This is the most fragile point. You must decide whether to encourage freedom of thought or narrow the ideas of the people you wish to lead. Haile Selassie came very forward thinker and fascinating leader, and his stand against fascism was inspirational. But as he got older he reverted back to his old ways of thinking as the empire and we are the people follow. I wish he took the approach of being the like the people. I totally agree with Mutabaruka! And I would like to add: the trinitarian view out of which evolved Christianity was already built on a mistake or a separation of cultures. The man now called Jesus Christ (Yeshua or Yoshua, etc.) could never have said or believed he was God. He would have been a Jew, so that negates that notion. Historically he coulc well have been a follower of the Helenistic element at work in Israel at the time (Palestine as it was then called), so this whole trinitarian idea was Greek mythology worming its way into Judaism. The result of that is what we now know as Christianity. So, Rastafarians have , I think, two options: 1. follow the emporer HIM Haile Selassie I and become a member of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church (Tewado/EOTC), or 2. Build an African system of thought/way of life that is truly autonomous and not built on European/Middle Eastern culture/theology. In other words, do we dare to let go of the Bible, as it is not universal but the cultural exponent of a Middle Eastern culture?

Rastafari has to evolve to recognize the truth that is now evolving from the revelation of the suppressed reality of our past from the colonizers. Every nation, including Africa, has a unseen diety that they give reverence. We in the diaspora have to see the mistakes we have embraced because of the conditioning we received from the slave "masters." Religion is a choice of personal belief in an unseen force. I believe in a God. The Most High God of all people. My God is not white, or black. I have never seen my God in the physical. Although, I recognize the God presence in all things of the earth including man.
In my opinion, most foundation Rastafari (the elders), not all, but those that I am familiar with including my children's father, have always use the Bible in their reference to The Most High God. I believe the problem with the elders who are hanging on to Selassie in the God concept, instead of being one of their African Kings that they give reverence may have misunderstood the philosophy behind the statement of no white king to be our ruler of our African race. They draw from the Bible the statement:"Kings of Kings, Lord of Lords..."conquering lion..tribe of Judah," all reference in the Christian Bible. The rest is history.

By that I am assuming you practice a religion. Do you embrace the Jewish faith? Religion is not God, it's man-made rules to identify the force that man give reverence. I don't debate religion since I am an African, descendant of slavery, thus void of language and knowledge of my true culture.
Every nation has a language and a "god"force that's unique to them. Africa is a continent with many languages and ", god" force. As an African in the diaspora, I have no knowledge of my language or "god" force that was stripped from me. I like the majority of Africans living in the diaspora has for centuries cling to the colonial masters language and religions as it was fed to us.
My personal take: I recognized in my life, in nature that there is a force beyond man. If I only accept the Christian, and the Jewish faith, I am making all the other races and religions of people of the world null and void. I would be passing judgement. I respect all people and their culture. However, my focus is Africa, so my reference is regarding the continent: Ethiopia is one country on the continent of Africa that's predominantly "Christian." What about the other 53 - are they irrelevant?

RasTafari would fade away with those foundationless claims. The Bible never came from white people.it come from hebrew people ,and Hebrews are mixture of black and Arab people who lived in africa for thousands of years.there are many African tribes that are descended from the original hebrews.there are numerous historical accounts of Hebrew tribes who lived in africa.including west Africa.i recently did an ancestry.com test and found out that I have alot of Igbo/ebo ancestry. It's a part of Igbo oral tradition that Igbo people decend from the Hebrews of the bible.and if you look on slave voyage.com you can look at the names of the slaves that were taken on the online slave names database ,and if you type in "yah" ( jahs name in Hebrew) on the search engine on the slaves name database,you will find hundreds and hundreds of Igbo/ebo slaves with Hebrew names, many of which come straight out of the Bible.to try and say the Bible is from white man is completely false.and as for trying to say that yahshuah/Jesus is a made up character , again is completely false .there is more evidence of his existence than there is for Julius Caesar ,but I don't hear nobody saying he never existed.and taking into account all the many prophecy that are in the new testament about these times we are living in, I am in no doubt that the Bible is true,we are living in the last days.everyting that is written in the Bible has and will come to pass.i don't know why certain rastaman are turning away from keeping the commandments of the most high and even going so far as promote obeah and Voodoo as African spirituality.this is not gud.blessed be all who walk with jah and hold to the teachings of yahshuah.i rely on him for everything.him never let me down.đŻđŻđŻ

Mutabaruka is more of a Roots bushman. He doesnât even accept what Haile Selassie accepts and Haile Selassie is Rastafari. But he is a very knowledgeable person.

Heâs a Rasta man plain and simple. Not every Rasta sees HIM as god or Jesus. Rastafari is a way of life not a religion. So there is not one way to be Rasta. Letâs get it right brother.

Haile Selassie says" a persons religion is their own personal business" He also said Religion was original there to enhance your Spirituality and Religion must not be confused for Spirituality. Spirituality is natural and pure and was given to us by the Most High à nd it links us to the Universe, the Most High and each other....It helps to read Haile Selassie speeches...It good to be a Bushmañ, cause you are linked to Nature and can easily identify the power within. @@lilraskhal8015 a roots man is a very African centered man who is down to earth. There are different levels to it depending on the individual. Some have locks and live in the bushes close to nature. But they donât want to hear anything about Haile Selassie I. They are dealing with more natural livity and connecting to Africa much more than the Selassie I thing. But some Rastafari are those who connected to a spiritual mystery system included in the Bible but not limited to the Bible. There connection to this is there connection to Haile Selassie I which connects them to the Ethiopians. The Bibleâs first book was written in 1500b.c. The flood story was in Sumer a province of Ethiopia thousands of years before Hebrews or Israelites wrote it down. So though Mutabaruka is knowledgeable he has chosen his path and does not subscribe to the mystery system of the Bible even though he respects Haile Selassie I which is fine. But there are many Rastafari, some dead and gone who overstanding the mystery of the Christ accepts Rastafari Haile Selassie I, but the Learning only started there. And it does not stop with Christianity or Judaism. Rastafari is studying the history of God through the spectacles of Ethiopia. Rastafari is more than herbsman, or roots man, or reggae artist, there is a scholarly and historical revelation that Rastafari has tapped into and Ethiopia and Haile Selassie I were the keys to this connection

My brothers, you're debating about truths pertaining to the all knowing God. He's the God who reveals the truth to all who seek Him in sincerity to know. Don't seek to know God's truth from everybody else. Go directly to Him in prayer. That's what I do whenever I'm unsure about anything pertaining to His truth. You don't have to be a Christian for God to reveal Himself to you. I wasn't when He revealed Himself to me. That's how I got to know him. You WILL find Him when you seek Him with your WHOLE heart.
Mutabaruka need to have a discussion with Dr.Bart Ehrman,Dr. Richard Carrier and Alex J'oconnor/ Cosmic sceptic.
He doesnât need to do anything except carry on teaching truth and knowledge.
