Just a note, I know Susan said not to give honey to babies under age 1, but here’s why. Honey can have botulism spores in it and it is almost always fatal when a child under the age of 1 or an immune compromised child gets botulism. So do NOT risk it. Obviously not all honey is contaminated and clearly it’s not enough to hurt an adult or older child, but the risk is too great given the outcome.
Also baby Vick’s for infants/children over the age of 2 months is great. And that Vick’s humidifier has pads to help too, but they’re not approved for children and babies under the age of 2 years.

Use Distilled water in the humidifier & disinfect it regularly. Water with minerals leaves hard mineral/scaly deposits or even a slimy residue inside the machine.

I once heard a friend say that she had taught her kids to blow their nose by telling them to think of blowing out birthday candles, but with their nose. 😂 This video made me recall that. Great video in general, by the way!

For congestion we use doterra easy air in a warm bath and then rub some with an oil or cream base on chest to help break up the mucous and in the diffuser it goes in. Always seems to help him. When breast feeding I use to put the easy air on my chest so he could smell it whilst feeding to make it easier and if you are not comfortable putting essential oil on your baby.

First week of daycare and our babe got sick with a cold, going on 2.5 weeks now. We have been using the nose frida and I’m so glad you shared your info on that and how it could inflame the nose worse😬

My girls are older now but as toddlers yes to all this. Motrin and Tylenol are essential to dealing with really bad fevers. I also tried to have them sit up as much as possible when sleeping or to sleep on their side so all the drainage didnt feel like it was choking them. We also deal with nosebleeds so saline ointment is also great and we still use the humidifier. I pray your little man feels better ASAP! Also don’t forget to change his toothbrush once he is better :)

The timing of this video is ideal, my little boy has a nasty cough and cold at the minute and it’s his first real illness! I feel so bad for him.

A natural chest rub always seems to be soothing as well! Aaaaand Hyland’s Homeopathic cold tablets help with mucus.

My son is 7.5 months and has been sick almost non-stop since he started daycare at 4 months. The first week at daycare we ended up in the hospital because he has bronchiolitis! What a nightmare. Luckily he’s just has colds since. The humidifier really helps. Thanks for this video! Hope your little man feels better soon ❤️
