    I bought the Lumintop edc18 flashlight and I must be honest I feel silly buying the expensive Olight seeker 2 pro because lumintop edc18 is way cheaper and just as bright as Olight seeker 2 pro. 10000 lumens will do me camping Hiking plus I know I'll be busting a top quality flashlight

    At 10.25 in the video you can see an alien in the rock. Picking this light up tomorrow! I have the NSX3A so it will be nice to see which one is brighter. Great vid, thank you!

    I actually have this light on the way, but I also have 2 astrolux ec03 that runs 6700 lumens, also using a single 21700. It is a little better for heat dissipation, but not much better. It has fins to increase the surface area, but it is still a small light to put out 6700 lumens. There is currently no way around the fact that high lumens in a small surface area is going to get very hot, very quickly. I also have a ec01 that is only a little smaller head than the ec03, and runs at 3500 lumens. You can run it a good bit longer than the ec03 or the FW21 pro, and yes I have the FW3a as well. These are all impressive lumen output lights for very limited amount of time. Some of my throwers can be run on turbo for a long time. My Astrolux MF04 is 2700 lumens in a massive light with 2416 meters of throw. It does not get bad hot, and it is impressive for throw. So is my Thrunite tn42, Astrolux FT03S, Nitcore TM16GT, Astrolux FT03 SST40-W, and several other large throwers. The Sofirn C8G has very good throw for its small size. For the money the Astrolux FT03 SST40-W is the most bang for your buck of any throwers I have. Less than 35 bucks on sale and 875 meters of throw. Would love to have the Imalent MS18 with it's 100,000 lumens, but at over 600 dollars I will have to take a pass on that one. The most I have paid for a light is 160 dollars for the Thrunit TN42 and the MF04 was about the same price on a very good sale. This one I just ordered with a sale price and coupon code, it was about 60 bucks. 10,000 lumens on such a small light is insane for the maybe 30 seconds until temperature regulation drops it down. I even have a Sofirn IF25 with adjustable color temperature between I think 2700k and 6500k. It achieves this feat due to having 2 2700K led and 2 6500K led's and ramps the 2700K emmitters up, until highest point followed by ramping up the 6500K emmitters and finally ramping down the 2700K emmitters. Ramping these in such fashion allows you to set the color temp anywhere between 2700K and 6500K. That was brilliant.

    I have the copper version and it’s smooth warmth will be appreciated on cold winter evening walks. You might enjoy the available LEP models (e.g. Weltool W4 or Fenix TK30). They never get hot & could allow you to track the wildlife from a mile away.

      @@Swallowfire I saved a fair amount on the Fenix with the Fenix-store first-purchase discount and on the Weltool with NealsGadgets normal 15% discount. I do prefer the Anduril diagram for learning the UI but I'm used to state-charts from computer science. The written description is also important to explain some details though so nice that you included a link to the manual.

    @thatplat1 Před 3 lety +1

    Hey Alex, great video. I like your style.
    Some other owners say the light can sustain the top of the ramp forever without overheating. Can you cnfirm if that is true?

    • @Swallowfire
      @Swallowfire  Před 3 lety

      Top of the ramp, yes, though it does get hot, it never ramps down.
      Turbo, no. It overheats in turbo after less than a minute.

    • @thatplat1
      @thatplat1 Před 3 lety

      @@Swallowfire Do you own an FW3A, D4, or KR4 for comparison? I'm thinking about purchasing an FW21 pro for its sustained output, but if it isn't that much brighter than an FW3A at the top of the ramp, then it might not be worth it.

    • @Swallowfire
      @Swallowfire  Před 3 lety

      I do own an FW3A and the FW21 Pro is significantly brighter. It's actually only a little bit dimmer at the top of the ramp than the FW3A is in turbo, which it obviously can't sustain.

    • @thatplat1
      @thatplat1 Před 3 lety

      @@Swallowfire No way. How is that possible. It's like 60% of the lumens and floodier. How similar are we talking, because that's definitely gonna be a purchase from me.
      My Haikelite MT03 Devourer TA only sustains enough brightness to equal an FW3A at the top of the ramp, if I run it for 30 mins or longer. It's definitely floodier than the FW3A so it's probably putting out like 1500 lumens. I'd assume that's exactly what the FW21 pro would look like, and that's a league beneath the FW3A turbo. Does that make sense??

  • @GatCat
    @GatCat Před 3 lety +1

    After my experience with the Fw3A and emisar d4v2, I don’t think I’ll get anything small and 5k+ lumens. It just gets too hot to utilize turbo. Lumintop is a fantastic value tho.

    • @Swallowfire
      @Swallowfire  Před 3 lety +1

      The heat is a real problem. Not even sure what the solution is. Other than more efficient LEDs and bigger heatsinks.

    • @SodiumSyndicate
      @SodiumSyndicate Před rokem

      Just because a small torch can put out 5k+ lumens, doesn't mean you have to use it at that power. Use lower modes & keep the turbo only for emergency or self defense.
