    I applied a transfer for the first time today and hand some cracks and missing bits. You said you used acrylic paint and another kind I’ve never heard of. Can you explain to me a bit more about the paints. Do you paint right on the transfer on put on the clear coat (satin) and paint on that. If you have a video just on that, please give me link. I want to learn how to fix mistakes. Thank you so much and I love your videos.😊

    Hi Amy, I got a bubble in a transfer I put on but it was rice paper. Woke up and saw it where I couldn't see it the night before. I was practicing on wood luckily and wondering if your sand paper rip the bubble trick, lol, would work on it.

    Hi Amy, I really like your videos. However, in this video you mentioned not using Gator Hide on the transfer. I actually didn't run into any problems using the ReDesign transfer with Dixie Belle Gator Hide. Both were applied over Chalk Paint by Americana Decor. Do you think the type of Chalk Paint makes a difference? I completed that project over a year ago. So, I am trying to remember if I waited a day after applying the transfer and then added the Gator Hide. Looking forward to more videos!

      Hi! I don’t think it’s the chalk paint only because I think Dixie Belle’s brand ambassadors recommend not using it either. Don’t quote me on that though lol but I’m pretty sure I have seen it a few times. I’m glad it worked out for you though. I’ve read it working for others also.

      @@FlipItFurniture Well now that it is bought to my attention I will be more cautious. That was my first time using both the Gator Hide and the transfer. I will have to watch the video again to see what you used instead. Thank you.

      No problem! I use any regular water based sealer. Dixie Belle’s regular top coat Is great or Varathane’s water-based polyurethane. I just wouldn’t recommend gator hide, any tough coat or triple thick. 😊

    What grit of sanding pad did you use for the burnishing... very beautiful

    • @FlipItFurniture
      @FlipItFurniture  Před 3 lety +1

      I’m not sure what this one was but it needs to be really high like 240 or over. A lower grit will rip through the transfer. Thank you for watching 😊

    What brand chalk paint? Did you do a top coat underneath the transfer?
    This is so beautiful 😍

    • @FlipItFurniture
      @FlipItFurniture  Před 2 lety +1

      This It’s a Dixie Belle Paint. I do not topcoat under the transfer. I topcoat over. Unless I am applying a transfer to Raw wood in that case I will top coat under the transfer.

  • @kimberlyrudolphcap1789

    I have a table I want to do this on the top. My kitchen and pieces throughout my home are sunflower 🌻 themed as they are my absolute favorite flower!! Where did you get the transfer from?

    I think I'd lay the piece down and put it on instead of trying to push it on like that

    • @FlipItFurniture
      @FlipItFurniture  Před 3 lety

      I don’t mind putting transfers on this way but if I was a Decoupage and I definitely Prefer to lay it down. Transfers are much easier for me to apply.
