Will paterson, great video 😊 I'm currently trying to do a logo for my face painting and special effect make up business. It's called 'Scribbles and Screams' and I'm stuck on fonts because I want it to show both the face painting side (scribbles) and the FX make up side (screams). I don't think that scribbly font and something like horror font go together. How else can I get this across without using font?? I'm driving myself mad 😫 help!!!

I haves logo and don't know what font was used. Online font ID programs do not have any success. (Unfortunately likely due to low quality image) It works on the website but isn't scalable upwards. Do you have any suggestions for how I can identify the font please?

This was so helpful! I'm currently trying to figure out what my personal branding should be as I'm a recent pharmacy grad (I kind of did a double take when you mentioned pharmacist while talking about Sans Serif fonts, haha!). I'm trying to make a creative resume to apply for healthcare advertising/marketing jobs and am not very experienced with graphic design, so your videos have been helpful! Really I've only used PowerPoint to design things like presentations and don't have any design/illustration programs, but time is of the essence right now 😅 Do you recommend a particular program for a beginner like myself to make something like a creative/polished resume?
Surely Pandora is a version of Optima, no? Although it has the thick/thin strokes you’ve associated with serif fonts, it’s a sans.
Would you use a Script Font casual on the first letter of the name and the rest of the name is in Sans-Serit Font bold?

Bebas Neue is my favorite sans serif font. I highly recommend it for cooperate design.
+Jay I think so - more slab serif. Before I recorded the video I genuinely thought that the logo had serifs! Ha. It’s got serif qualities without the serifs. Ha ;)

But there are no serifs on the pandora logo
The funny thing is that for example futura looks very modern, but was published in 1927. Same goes for many other sans serif typefaces, they are older than you might think.

I already have the idea of RockB is forward, BsteR is backwards, with an "O" in the middle. But other than that, i have no clue about logos or fonts.

What is your process for determining which font to use after you decide whether you want serif, sans serif, or script? Do you just throw stuff at the wall, or do you have a specific font in mind?
I just shop around - Mood board it and make a decision based on the functionality of it. :)

Will Can you please make another video based on the same topic in a more elaborate way. Like you took names of few san serif fonts. Kingly give suggestions on other types of fonts also. There are plenty and more the no is more the confusion comes in.

Plz use more pictures if you name examples
for logo design you're probably wanna use slab serif and not normal serif. With slab serif the serifs are much thicker making them easier to see and grab the cleints attention.
