A big thank you !
Thank you for watching!
Looks good with the D blocks but you should really insulate all positives to avoid shorts.
I have some of them love them
Looks great!
Thanks!
Automotive audio capacitor way cheaper find out how many amps your alternator puts out × 15 and match cap to max watts of your alternator $50 most veh
375 farads
Good call on the b stock, show time electronics do that too. Good stuff.
Yea they do and I just picked up another one from Amazon. Gonna use it on my test bench so am probably gonna have to order one more for my truck… :)
@BassDad you still run them after being recalled for internal shorts?
I’ll customz is top of the line products
Nice I thought about getting 2 myself.
Might as well!
It looks good no doubt. But I agree with him ^
Looks good! I got one of these super caps and am in the process of installing it, for now without a 2nd battery. I know it needs to be wired parallel with the front battery but should it be grounded to the frame where it is mounted as well?
I just grounded mine to the frame but it was there only for a short time before I moved everything.
This is actually a debated topic where to ground a second battery or capacitor. The safest and best place is ground it to the ground strap in the engine block especially if it’s part of the voltage system that starts the car. If it’s just there for the radio you might can get away with just grounding it to the frame. Make sure you use OFC cable and at 1/0 gauge cables with copper lugs
@@TheRealPivotpodcastthanks for replying, hopefully grounding where it’s mounted fixes my problem. Two days in a row I woke up to a dead battery and cap so I unhooked everything n been trying to figure out what I could have done wrong. Hopefully it’s just a massive difference in grounding potential causing the battery and cap to feed off each other until they’re both drained.
@@myevilbanana hmmm, and the under the hood battery does go dead?
@@TheRealPivotpodcastyes the under the hood battery and the cap both drain completely in a few hours time of just sitting. Here’s how I have it set up. Front battery (big 3 upgrade), 1/0 pos & neg to cap behind front seat, using cap terminals is as power and ground distribution, 2 amps and a cheap DSP. At a full charge I pulled the fuses for the 3 things being powered and read amperage between the ground cable and battery neg (under the hood) 10-40mA the weird part is every so often the polarity on the meter reading would change from positive to negative back and forth. Left it hooked and took voltage readings every so often and could see the voltage steadily drop over time. Disconnect the fuse to the cap amperage drops to barely readable and a constant positive value, voltage stays stable. Battery is about 6 months old. Being that part of the cap’s function is it’s supposed to be able to jumpstart the car if the battery is dead I’m kinda confused.
@@myevilbanana yeah, something Is draining the battery and it’s not the ground. What’s making my ears perk up is “cheap DSP” if I were you I’d disconnect power, ground and remote for the DSP tonight and see where it is in the morning. :)
Nice set up! Did you wire this in parallel? I just ordered one to help stabilize my amps. I have the jp23v2 for my subs. Jp234 and Jp84 for my highs/mids.
Yeah, in parallel I don’t think you can wire them in series. It works great. I have added a second JP23V2 since then still factory alternator and my voltage is fine. Usually at 14.6
@@TheRealPivotpodcast Cool man! You pushing a lot of power with two of them. Appreciate the response back. I have 2 12inch Kicker QClass so running the JPv2 at 2ohm should be all the power I need. I’m going ti run it in parallel with XSD5100. I got a 320 Alt.
@@MrILLryder have you seen the new kicker solo X’s? They are crazy. Kicker makes some good subs when they make the ones that can handle some power and they have great customer service. I’m sure yours sounds amazing! I would never have 2 JP23v2’s and two hippoxl’s if I wasn’t doing this CZcams stuff. But it’s insane. I have never heard a system this loud. I just ordered yesterday a new mechman alt and some of those new D4S 6.5 mids. I appreciate you watching my videos! I have some super crazy content coming so make sure you subscribe.
@@TheRealPivotpodcast yeah I’ve seen them but I wasn’t sure if they were available to purchase. I think if I go a different route I may go with B2 audio or Digital designs. Yeah you’re right about the power it requires for those hippo’s lol. I bet it is loud in person. I saw they just came out with some mids. I have 4 of the DB drive wdx6moto’s with the horn. They scream at 103.3 sensitivity they get loud minimal power. The 6.5 CT sounds Neo’s are extremely loud as well I put them in my Harley. For the price you can’t beat the sound. I’ll subscribe. I’ll be posting my build soon. I’m wrapping my console.
@@MrILLryder I subscribed to you as well I wanna see that Harley when you finish!
I got a 64ah headway bank on a isolator and a xs power d3400 in factory spot to start the car. I was thinking on ditching the weak point (agm) and getting one of these to start the car with.
Yeah you don’t need a under the hood battery. You definitely could install one of these in its place.
@@TheRealPivotpodcast no no I got a mercedes so it's in the trunk.
@@1ohmwrecker You can use this with lithium batteries???
I have one in the car volts stay up higher very happy
That’s great! Thank you for watching!
Do you have to charge this like a supercap bank with a small lightbulb first or can you just hook it up in parrallel? I know suoercap banks need to slowly charge up before installed?
No man, it’s ready to go!
I have mine in my trunk with the factory battery. No aftermarket audio yet,. Voltage stays IMO low in the 14.2. Stock everything Dodge Charger. Since it was wired in my old vehicle with 3500 watt Skar that I uploaded on YT, I felt like it was wired wrong IDK.
Kind of hard to wore it wrong but maybe. This is the thing that made the big difference in my electrical even more than the HOA
@BassDad I mean I connected it after my main agm battery not before
I have a cyber 12k limit lithium. Will this work with lithium and will it help me to stop dropping from 14.5 to 13.9 i have a 8000 watt Taramps amp and a 320 amp alternator
So yes it will work with lithium. Yea it will help but can’t promise it will stop it completely. You may need more than 1
@@TheRealPivotpodcast My second one just came in , should I order the 6 battery terminal or can I just put all the wires together on the battery like you had a first ???? Will it make a difference in performance , cause I don't care about the look.
@@moneymac5214 if you don’t care how it looks then you should be fine
Hey so I just got one of the ioxus ultracaps and I got it installed and everything but when I first turn vehicle on there is a high pitch noise coming from it. Did you experience this?
Yup, they all do it unfortunately
@@TheRealPivotpodcast ok thanks
I have the Iioxus ultracapacitor uc-31 i have 3 batteries in my car 1st batteries is the car battery in trunk that nothing is connected to just the car power, I don't want to touch that...
2nd battery is in car with a 0 gauge wire from 250amp alternator to second battery than positive and negative parallel to 3rd battery both for sound system lights and tvs in car .my question is how would I connect the ultra capacitor to the battery's inside the car please help I've had the capacitor for 4 months and can't figure it out. Should I replace one of the batteries inside car with ultra capacitor or connect all 3 together if so how will I have to connect the together. Please help
Just like a battery man. Run them all in parallel
Jus got mine In today..can I hook it up to my xs xp1500 battery?? Or do I have to hook it up to my other battery
And mine looks different I wonder why
@@cali8221 they have different versions and models. These can be hooked up anywhere in your electrical system but I recommend placing them right before your amp.
I jus got mine In today and I paid 127.07 for a B stock.yes sum have them for 199 and I seen them for 349..haven't hooked it up yet but I will soon ..I did not know it was as big as it is or as heavy..And I got my 6 slot distribution blocks too today..cnt wait to see if it really keeps my volts up..I need to get my upgraded altinator and with this and my xs xp1500 battery I should be good ..gonna do the big 3 also..I jus need sum one to build me a box now
I really like mine I bought a couple more for a test bench and for other cars I think they are amazing
@Bass Dad I notice mine is different from yours..Can I hook it to my xs xp1500 battery..its 12v
@@cali8221 I’d have to know exactly what it is. My understanding is capacitors should charge to whatever voltage you are running though but send me a model number or something before we test that theory
@Bass Dad I have the xs xp1500 battery ..I dnt understand what u are asking..im asking can I hook it up to that battery since it's already in my trunk??I have a 06 buick lucerne cxl and the main battery is indeed my bck seat..I also have the same ultracapacitor but the writing on the top is different then your's..Google them u will see the different ones like I did..I jus noticed it tho from watching you're video

Do anyone know the size of the positive and negative screws on the top?
Terminal Fastener Size / Torque Range: SAE 3/8 -16 / 17-22.5 Nm (12.5-16.6 lb*ft)
What is the cutoff for discharging the battery? I'm concerned it is designed for flooded cell will drain my AGM battery too much. I can't find this info anywhere.
I use mine with lithium so I'm sure it will be fine for your agm. ill try to find the exact specs for you though
@@TheRealPivotpodcast Been trying to email them and it isn't very clear what happens if you just leave it connected for a month.
@@The_Ballo I have really upgraded stuff since this video. Mine has been hooked up to my test bench for several months. It really seems like it has a range of charge. I have noticed no drain at all having it attached to my lithium banks. I have it right now on a 5s 16volt lithium bank. It holds charge fine
@@TheRealPivotpodcast Interesting. How long have you left it idle like that without charging before testing voltage?
@@The_Ballo 30 days if not more

I went to you're description and clicked on it and I cnt find the 6 slot at all..its saying they only have the 4slot for 25 bucks but u are using the 6slot ..they have 8slot and 8slot for top post but they are like 45 bucks..
Try this one? Let me know if it works :) amzn.to/3T2zPc7
@@TheRealPivotpodcast yea that one worked they are 28.99
@@cali8221 I’m glad because that seemed way too expensive. The bad thing about Amazon is the prices fluctuate so much!
@@TheRealPivotpodcast yes they do
One word of caution. These style of battery terminal can add a lot of weight and leverage to the battery terminals. I've seen terminals snapped in two. It's easy to accidentally put weight on it. I think the easiest fix is to add a non conductive spacer under the terminal. Like 1/8" or 1/4" abs, etc... Glue it to the bottom of the terminal to fill the gap. Then you could push down on it and it won't bend the battery post/bolt and damage it. 👍
I'd also try to get a red plastic box to completely cover the terminal. That way a dropped wrench or something won't cause a short.
@@JasonWW2000 good advice and something I actually have thought about. My truck isn’t like this anymore. I’ll be doing a video soon showing the upgrades we moved all of it to the bed. I got rid of these terminals for this capacitor and added a second capacitor and went with d blocks that are mounted on an amp rack. I will say for the time I used these they were quite an improvement but like you said I would add some support as well if you plan on using them long term.
Thanks for watching brother!
I got a pair and now I'm gonna get me a OXUS ULTRA CAPACITOR 12V
Amazon has them for like $120 now. amzn.to/3mAFiur
I think you didn't get batteries correctly there, yes production of, and chemical makeup of the battery madders, to a point ... there's a cranking amp aspect, and continuous output - plus + storage ability to battery... every battery type generally has its Traid best ability,s.
generally, Pd types are known as STARTUP or Cranking batteries,
flooded ascid = startup current -aka CCA, - resting voltage 12.6 - the only PD-type that can be refilled,
AGM,= is a sealed battery, able to run upsidedown, high CCA, the bass of every custom type to follow a resting voltage of 13.2
