Hello,From my research, I can see that the Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) is a certification, not a degree. If I would like to study the whole degree, for example, to learn how to program a computer, I would go on the field of Computer science, there I could get my Bachelor of science, Master and even a PHD. If I would like to follow the same concept but for being a the same career as you, in what field or program would I apply for?

As for your question, it’s not guaranteed that you will get the same job that you had in the military. That depends entirely on what the FAA decides. You would most likely need to have the FAA review your case and then take the A&P test.
