    You should continue to upload more honestly, you are a fantastic controller. I was fortunate enough to be able to observe you controlling EGKK_GND earlier.

    fantastic to watch, I got into VATSIM a while back and am thinking about going at it again, i also had a tough time trying to manually read through clearances to make sure they are correct, I like the tab that just says if its OK or not, i need that for sure

      The flight plan checker (the mentioned tab) is just a aid - we don’t use it to fully check flight plans. Sometimes it gives FPLN errors when the FPL is okay, sometimes it misses out errors in some FPLs. We use it just to confirm everything is okay :)

    Hi Adam, what plugin are you using for putting aircraft into a request queue, in the departure list?

    What's the difference between ground and delivery? Delivery controls people going into/coming out stands, ground do takeoff/landings?

    • @planespotting_arn
      @planespotting_arn Před 9 měsíci

      Delivery only gives clearences to aircraft, Ground gives push and taxi instructions, tower gives takeoff and landing clearences.

    • @thevatsimcontroller
      @thevatsimcontroller  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Delivery gives clearances and plans ground movement. Ground controls the movement of aircraft on the ground.

    How do we know the correct cruise altitude and speed for a flight? I've always struggled with it. Great videos mate!

    • @thevatsimcontroller
      @thevatsimcontroller  Před 9 měsíci +3

      If you are going East or South you need an odd flight level (eg FL310,330,350,etc), if you are going north you need an even flight level (for example FL300,320,340,etc). Hope this helps!

    • @captainalpha4853

      @@thevatsimcontroller so it should also always be at or above FL300?

    • @thevatsimcontroller
      @thevatsimcontroller  Před 9 měsíci

      @@captainalpha4853No, you can have any FL as long as the odd/even rules are followed for the 2nd digit. I was just using them as an example

    • @captainalpha4853
      @captainalpha4853 Před 9 měsíci

      @@thevatsimcontroller okay i see, but is there a rule or something to help me choose the right FL? For instance, if I'm doing EGKK -> EDDF, how can i choose the right FL?

    • @thevatsimcontroller
      @thevatsimcontroller  Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@captainalpha4853As I just explained. You are heading east so you need an odd flight level. So you can chose any FL where the second digit is odd. For this specific flight, I would personally choose 310 or 330.

    • @kieran0941
      @kieran0941 Před 9 měsíci +2

      Most ATC divisions have a training programme. Within that, they train you in the different levels up to Centre control.

    • @thevatsimcontroller
      @thevatsimcontroller  Před 9 měsíci +2

      Approx 3-4 months of learning + 2 exams.
