- My first time controlling at Gatwick with my new endorsement to control there! Very quiet for EGKK. Hopefully I will be able to control a busy session to post on here!
Thank you for all the support recently, I try to respond to all comments!
Any questions or queries let me know.

Man, I've always been amazed by the multitasking skills that most ATC posses. Thanks for the showcase from a controller's POV! It's really cool to see how things work from this angle.
Thanks! We get used to be able to multitask, just getting into a flow of it
EGKK is my favorite airport. ATC here always polite for beginner pilots, English with no accent of speech and easy to understand. Nice job, keep it up.
Glad you enjoy the services of VATSIM UK :)
I've always enjoyed departing and arriving in EGKK when I used to fly in the sim. Great ATC, very polite and easy to understand.
Glad to hear this, did my first vatsim flight few days ago from EGCC, will definitely try EGKK soon:)
currently playing your streams in the background all day as additional preparation for my first time on frequency this evening, awesome stuff!
watching this before doing my first VATSIM ground tomorrow as well :D
Good luck!
I've always wondered with the controller side of things look like, great vid, glad I stumbled on your stream!
Thank you! Hopefully I’ll see you around 😊
Starting at gatwick as a controller this summer, can’t wait. Brilliant video
Good luck!
A great stream showcasing the amount of time and dedication you guys have to put in, I’ll soon be ready for my first Vatsim flight. Do you have to replace your keyboard after every session 😀
Almost 😅
I’m always super interested in this stuff for some reason. This was fun to listen to in the background. I had some game awhile ago that put you into an airport and it could use voice commands to direct ai aircraft from a controller POV. I wish I knew how to even remotely do this stuff because it seems like so much fun
I used to have that game too - Tower3D Pro? It's stressful but fun as well lol
@@thevatsimcontroller that’s the one! It was fun, but that’s the closest I’ve ever gotten to that kind of thing. Someday I’m gonna try and learn this stuff, when I have extra free time
I watch with interest thats really cool! 🔥
Excellent controlling. But my goodness, that VATSIM layout graphic looks like it was made for a 1980s pre-windows computer. Surely VATSIM can update its airport diagrams to be better than a 640-480 commodore display with yellow blobs for aircraft and almost unreadable taxiway markings!
Aren’t really meant to be readable markings, we’re meant to memorise them. This is similar to what an IRL ground controller would see also.
nice one mate, training for my s1 in the uk atm
Have fun and good luck, hope to see you on the network soon!
THAT'S ME RYR345 I was headed to Prague! oh my goodness this video came onto my "FOR YOU" ah that is interesting I thought you could here your ATC partners when controlling together I guess not, but sadly I did not get my clearance and taxi from you :(
Unfortunately we cant hear each other no. We can talk to other on TeamSpeak but that controller wasn't on there. Hopefully I'll see you around!
@@thevatsimcontroller hopefully to get a clearance from you someday whenever I fly in Europe again. I usually fly in America that's why. That is very unfortunate that the Tower did not want to go "TeamSpeak" but then again he didn't seem very energetic mostly very focused, he was a good Tower though!
So that’s how you guys do it awesome!
Amazing controlling I'm currently a ground/apron controller in Geneva
Hi there, good job on controlling gatwick! its a busy area and it tends to get quite intense so well done. Just a suggestion for your viewers on youtube and twitch is to put on some music in the background. It's very audible to hear what you are doing in your room. Thanks again for controlling 👍
Thank you for the suggestion. Agreed - should be able to sort something out for next time!
@@thevatsimcontroller awesome, would like to see you again some time soon
Well done amazing work 🎉🎉
Ah that looks great. Love it. Should finally get the training and start with you
Fantastic!
nicely done
I've always wondered what the atc view from vatsim was, I'm always the one in the plane
Those airplanes look like a 2 yeat old drew it lol, anyways nice video im thinking of becoming a controller
Nice. :)
Bro clicking tf out the keys when he typing😭
Mechanical keyboard!
where are you getting the taxi infromatoin from there is no taxi marks on screen
Memory!
Thanks for sharing! Why do some of the graphics on your map look a little "comic-y?" Like the aircraft icons for example, and some of the gate markers seems not very straight. Just wondering.
Aircraft icons are what would be seen IRL as well as everything on the screen. The gates are also drawn from IRL, where they are not uniform to be able to accommodate varying types of A/C :)
Hii, for the first time you are very good!
Thanks! Hopefully with experience all the learning will show itself more 😄
@@thevatsimcontroller Yep!
I like to play on vatsim but I am too shy to play on that Network. Do anyone have some Tips for beginners?
Watch some videos and learn the phraseology. Start at small airports with not much traffic. We were all in that situation and trust me, you won’t regret pushing that push to talk, but you’ll regret it by not pushing that button! So much fun!
Would love to do this how long did you wait for uk
I think it was 5-7 months around that time followed by 2 months of training. Then about 10 hours of experience to start to train for EGKK and then training for the EGKK endorsement took 2 months.
You should control adelaide centre
Not that high up yet....as an S1 I can only control ground for now :)
How do I become a controller on VATSIM?
Hi. Which VATSIM division are you in?
Is it hard to be a controller? been thinking of trying it out. Ofc start on smaller airports
Depends. You get trained up pretty well but takes a while. It took me 2 months to train for Gatwick and many sessions. It’s difficult with traffic like this, but we like a challenge!
Worth giving it a go. They'd have aptitude tests and stuff so you wouldn't get too far before realising you're wasting your time
what software are you using for ATC?
Euroscope
boy vatsim software looks way better than IVAOS software
always ;)
NOWAY IM USI😅😅😅
Nice, good to meet you! Hopefully you can gain an insight into what goes on behind the scenes ;) Was a pleasure to control you!
Is this some kind of sim or real controlling?
VATSIM is a highly realistic virtual simulation. Able to be used in MSFS20 or X-Plane.
As @kayleigh said. Flight sims, I am controlling real people
