Hier sehen wir heute mal den Guss einer neuen Blankwalze nach der traditionellen Methode von Thomas A. Edison.
Das „Wachs“ ist eigentlich eine Metallseife (Aluminiumstearat!) und wird ab 110 Grad Celsius flüssig.
Bei ca 120 Grad Celsius wird es in die gleichtemperierte Form eingegossen.
ACHTUNG!! ⚠️☝🏻😳 Die Temperaturen des Materials liegen weit über 100 Grad Celsius! Bei Unfällen kann es zu schweren Verbrennungen kommen!

I can tell you properly annealed it twice. before moulding.

The fresh wax bath is cooled to room temperature ad after 24 hrs again heated to 250' C. After that it cools again for 24 hrs and is heated again the next day. Prior to casting the bath then has to lay in stable temperatur and air humidity for 3 months and heated again to 250' C.
Now it can cool down again to 120' C and is then casted into the mound at the same temperature.
I found out this process makes really stable, play and stady, easy to work, nearly silent cylinders ☺️👍🏻❤️

@@grafhohenegg Because you have patients that most people do not, it paid off in a great way. Nothing wrong with resting the wax for 3 months, it ensures quality.

Sind die Wachswalzen aus dem gleichen Material wie die Singleschallplatten in den 80ern waren?

Nein, während Schallplatten seit den 1960er Jahren aus Polyvinylchlorid (PVC), einem Erdölderivat hergestellt wurden und werden, bestehen die Walzen aus Aluminiumstearat, was wiederum eine sogenannte Metallseife, also eine überfettete Säure mit chemischen Metallzusätzen ist. 😉👍🏻
