A 12 against a dealer 3 has always been my nemesis, the odds say to take the hit but after getting burned so many times I just let it go and stay.
It's a negative ev hand, meaning the objective is to lose less. It happens when you hit instead of staying.
Even the theoretical 13 the dealer has, is not that bad of a hand. More than half of the cards will not bust. 5 of the cards will make a hand. Ace, 2 and 3 will still make it mandatory for the dealer to draw another one which is yet another shot against you.
Always take a hit as 9/13 cards will improve your hand, hopefully an 8 or 9
