Thanks for the video of the wrist strap. I took mine out a year ago and couldn't for the life of me remember how it went back in.
I'll have to check those socks out. I grabbed a large pair of I think CCM socks, and the cut resistant material apparently cut down on their ability to stretch as much, so my calves felt like they were duct taped as tightly as possible.
Played my 1st game last night wearing new G6 pads and gloves and coming from Bauer I found that I caught more pucks, the pads with the raised shin pad made me stand more upright, it was weird sensation, I also would prefer a sure grip material for the palms otherwise a great set with loads of adjustability
So you can use a G5 liner on a G6, and vice verca, but they don't fit a 1:1, but they work well enough that it's not a concern.
Though, the backhand strapping is different between the two gloves that trying to get a G5 backhand connection to work on a G6 doesn't work very well.
Want your opinion on which glove presents bigger to the shooter and catches better? Both warrior gloves, brian eclipse or optik or bauer mach glove
I like warrior for it ease of closing, brians just look big compared too other gloves but i know they all fallow the same specs. Baure seems like the 600 break has an easier time catching. From your review?
Im looking this year or next year to make the investment for a set that going to last along time and ill be comfortable in. Equipment is getting more expensive.
I dont mind mixing and matching due to that ill be colour coordinating the gear with the same colours.
Thank you keep up the great work !
I would say G6.1 and Bauer Ultrasonic are some of the bigger presenting gloves besides the 580 styles (which look massive if you put them at a certain angle). But it is all about the hand position and the angle that you look at it.
Maxond Heretic looks massive for the pocket, but it's a very different style of glove.
Bauer Ultrasonic worked really well for me, but the Mach didn't since they changed a bunch. But I've had good experiences with Lefebvre designed 600 gloves in the past as well.
But, gloves are the biggest personal preference thing there is, so I always recommended that people try and put them on first!
I went from a hyperlite to the g6.1 and it was seamless. Only thing I needed to do was take my thumb out of the provided thumb loop.
Seemless . The 6.1 is way lighter and seems to be more protective
Great video, love your content. Random question, what is the distance from the base of your palm to the tip of your middle finger? I have the same problem with the fingers being loose and was thinking maybe an intermediate liner in a sr glove would help with that.
So, my fingertips are already pushing past the end of the gussets for the blocker. I asked Warrior about going to a smaller palm to tighten things up and they recommended against it. Moving the one strap from the wrist part over to the finger part makes a huge difference.
I'm currently wearing a vaughn epic cather which was custom build for a pro in the german league. I tried many other brands of glove (never warrior so far) but I never got the angle or the feel of the Vaughn 5500, epic, and vision I was using in the past.
I'm thinking of switching to warrior and am currently looking at 6.0 and 6.1 gloves, which are on sale online, so I can't try it. I know it's a matter of personal preferences but, do you think the angle and the feel would be anything near the Vaughn SLR line, or this is more of a Velocity... Or a whole different animal?
Btw. Love your videos, awesome job!
So... until this year the SLR line and Velocity line both had a very similar glove break angle to each other. SLR4 is the 1st year they went with a completely different stock break angle.
The 6.0 line is the closest to that 45, 55, 75, 600 break style of glove but at the same time the 5500, 8800 was a glove many companies tried to mimic but it wasn't ever exact.
Thanks for the kind words!
Nice breakdown Matt. Side note: When are you gonna talk about those Mckenney GPX2 pants!? They look like CCM 12A/14A. Been wearing their older pant models for years. Back to Warrior, good key points. I hope they made a few tweaks with the G7 line. I hate that the 6.0/7.0 catcher isn't "sewn in" optional. Have you had a chance to try the 60 breaks with them? Are they like the old Bauers or still distinct to Warrior?
I tried the G5 with the 60 liner in it and didn't notice a difference.
OK. And what of the pants? You gotta talk about them. Mckenney makes great gear!
