Big Blue is definitely gonna be awesome. After ya cleaned it was surprised how good the paint and wood looked and now ya put a good coat of new paint on it it’s gonna last even longer. Good video Michael. Almost gave a new meaning to watching paint dry..lol.
One suggestion when painting plywood or any flat surface, do you have access to a paint roller versus the brush technique. Does a wonderful job.

That's a good choice for paint. I use mostly Total Boat penetrating epoxy for dry rot. I mostly use this type because I can use it on old or new wood then paint on top of it. There's one for cold weather and regular use.

You have me second guessing my paint choice. Still going to use what i got because i am cheap and its a quality paint that i got for 10.00 a gallon. Sherwin williams DTM, hope it covers as well as that top coat. Love the super purple thats all we use at work. Works even better with a hot water pressure washer. Keep up the content thank you

Hi Mike, you are making the right decision with staying with the MerCruiser inboard Outboard, The Outboard conversion is way to expensive and overrated! MerCruiser is reliable. Growing up in Southeast Alaska on Prince of Wales island in the mid 60's we all ran Starcraft Boats for a nice dry ride. A few guy's had Boston Whaler but it was a wet ride from wind blown side spray. Once you get wet you get cold and need to turn back.
The Starcraft 22' Islander is designed for offshore, built for camping and Island hopping in Less then suitable weather conditions.
Toss the points and condenser and install electronic ignition and your kicker motor and you are good to go. We enjoy all of your video's!

Love your channel. Doing the same with a 1976 25 foot chieftain mark 4. Wish I could find more information on the gimble assembly and possible upgrades from the top trim sender to the twin senders. Your an inspiration to home DIY projects.

Wet Edge works best rolled and tipped. That motor was designed when 100000 miles meant 2000 hours. Depending on maintenance it might last 1000 hours or 4000 hours. The death knell of most inboard boat is water getting into the cylinders from a bad riser or manifold. Ask me how I know.
