Interestingly enough, both endings involve somebody losing their eyesight. That must have been a big deal back then.
I listen to the Frog Prince so many times as a kid growing up in Germany, that the sentence "Heinrich der Wagen bricht" is engraved in my memory.

Super cool channel for sure! I sometimes get a bit uncomfortable with whatever is being talked about, but I always appreciate his dedication! Particularly with Roald Dahl stories and Greek Mythology. A 10/10 channel. Oh! And he's super witty and funny as well! ❤

I've read the Tarzan book, and remember some details differently. I remember Kala's baby falling off her back, but I'm pretty sure it didn't say in my book that she was on the tree because Korchak was trying to hurt her. I also remember that he didn't rip Tarzan's dad's throat out, he pucked up his gun and accidentally pressed the trigger, killing him.
I'm not saying you're wrong, since it's very clear you do your research thoroughly- but now I'm wondering if I'm misremembering the book, or if it's a bit different because i read a translated version and the translator took some artistic liberty.

The Little Mermaid story that at least most Danish children grow up with is exactly like that - Mermaids don't have souls, little mermaid wants a soul, little mermaid learns humans have souls and can go to heaven, she want it, she try to get it, Prince marries another hot lady because he thinks she saved his life (but nope, we know it was our little mermaid), she has the opportunity to kill him (actually I think them both iirc? with the enchanted dagger given by her sisters), but she's like "dude no", and throws herself and the dagger overboard, only to lose her physical form (as she dies and turns to seafoam), but her spirit is carried away w the daughters of the air who tell her like "you were SUCH a good mermaid, that if you stick w us you can get a soul in like 300 years if kids are good and well behaved (if they misbehave, sucks for you, then it's gonna take even longer", and that's when all the little Danish children behave because we don't want to torture her for centuries

You should at least cover Princess and the Frog again and this time compare it what the end credits said was the real source material: The Frog Princess by E.D.Baker since that's where the whole twist on the fairytale originated. Jaimetud did a book vs movie comparison, but let's see you on how you compare it.
Plus, with Sleeping Beauty, I don't know if you've covered the ones that is the major inspiration for their version. The Charles Perrault version and the Brothers Grimm version. Since that's where they have the double names for the princess.

I am guessing that the Time freeze on Hatta's tea time represents how long a Hatter would suffer from hunger before he can manage a next time to get his next meal and the signification of how long hours they'd have to spend in their profession before they can even have a quarter of a break from work; The Duchess from the Hallmark Entertainment version of Alice in wonderland also mentions that Hatta also suffers from "Cucumber Legs".

In the version I know, the little mermaid becomes a "daughter of the air", not an angel.

Now, for something largely unrelated! I don't think I read the whole thing, but I did once stumble across a version of The Little Mermaid where she ends up in a mental institution because she can't speak except in gurgles and clicks (her native mermaid language) and because she does super weird stuff and doesn't walk very well. Which is super disturbing to think about, right up there with Buffy is actually delusional and kept in a mental hospital.

Actually, she becomes seafoam and according to the original, which was actually kind of published, and then it was revised because apparently they got too many complaints. When he published it she turns into seafoam and is told that eventually her soul will arise after I think it’s 100 years or whateverwhen what it is, she’ll have that chance to do good deeds etc. and then be reborn or some sort of silliness like that. Remember he was the son of a preacher so he couldn’t help putting a preacher version to the story.

Actually in the original and I’ve read several different versions of it the frog it doesn’t want her to be his girlfriend he just wants to kiss and she runs away, but her being stupid she does this again and this time he doesn’t give her the item that she loses, he tells her she will only get it if she kisses him blackmail Works every timeespecially since he turns into a prince after she kisses him
Yeah, so they keep her there for longer than a week thinking that in this way, they can kill the beast and get the castle and you know have a good old time but beauty gets there cause I forgot what it was if it’s the ring or what not and she realizes that she’s been gone too long and she goes there only to find him lying there dying. Yep.
Wait, no! That's not possible! In the 80s in communist Bulgaria we had the Little Mermaid story as the original! She dies and turns into foam! It's not possible that he didn't publish it because i cried every single time we read the story, including in school and the other kids were making fun of me for crying!
Seconded. I think maybe it's not available in English? Most Danish iterations of the story (so we're only talking modernisations of the language, no translation) include the version where she dies and turns to seafoam, and the version where her physical form dies and turns to seafoam BUT her spiritual form is given a chance at a soul, if she travels with the daughters of the air and, not performs good deeds herself, but witnesses the good deeds of children (which will shorten the like ~300 years until she can get a soul, but if the kids are little goblins, it'll prolong her wait). Basically used as a parenting tactic to make kids behave, because the poor little mermaid who's already suffered enough shouldn't suffer more "because of you" (you being a five y/o who was just told a traumatising bed time story)

I’m bearing mind that Rapunzel was a story stolen by the grin Brothers from an actual Jewish story about king Solomon‘s daughter, so that tells you how far back the red original goes by the way and I’ve heard plenty of their stories, including the original that they basically they changed quite a bit of it probably they didn’t want to be sued for plagiarism And yeah, I know that he supposed to be blind but she find him even though don’t ask it. It’s a soap opera of a story.

Please bear in mind that all these fairytales that one here is about are always told by the Victor therefore the true story is she probably killed the queen or whatever the guys wife so that she and her twins could take over the castle with the with the husband that she wantedbecause frankly, as every woman knows if she really wanted to get rid of her, she wouldn’t have made a steak she wouldn’t have had her Undress. She would’ve done everything herself and chances are she just would’ve killed her.
