Anastasia is such a good movie, but I don’t think it was a Disney movie originally. I thought it was made as a sort of F U to Disney, but I may be wrong 🤷🏻♀️

20th Century Fox was bought by Disney on March 20, 2019, that’s nearly five years that Anastasia has been a “Disney princess”

In the Beauty and the Beast part you barely scratched the surface of the darkness in the original. The Beast was going to kill Beauty's father for picking a rose (one that was NOT connected to the curse in any way) but when he learns of Beauty demands that she come live with him instead. Then he basically brow beats her into loving him.
I am SO glad Disney basically rewrote that story.
These were small clips from longer video, I'm pretty sure I remember him mentioning the flower in the full video. I haven't seen it in awhile so I might be wrong.
Question! From what I remember= the evil queen may have tried to kill Snow White 3x by her own hand, but she actually tried 4 times. The first time was not by her own hand but by commanding her royal woodsman to kill the girl by taking her into the woods and cutting out her heart that he would bring back and present to the queen.
It's been 4 decades since I've seen Disney's version, the woodsman was in it too, correct? I seem to recall he baulked at doing it and told Snow White the queen's plans and told her to run away and instead he would present a deer's heart instead.
How much is that first attempt and the woodsman differs?
That's what I remember him doing.
Instead, it is a pig’s heart. Which the Magic Mirror told her.
I love watching his videos and learning the darker side of the stories
The Disney versions are masterpieces, and it is good to share stories with young audiences and a larger reach.
There are also good versions from other sources. I love twisted things, so I like those too. But you have to admit that when Disney made their classic films, they were great and their art and actors and musical scores are epic, wether you like Disney or not.
Ah, sorry, Disney is distorting fairy tales eversince it started...

Pocahontas was the most bastardized movie they did. While others are based on fairy tales, legends, and myths, Pocahontas is history.
Yet on Disney Plus, you won't see a "we're sorry" disclaimer before the movie like Aladdin or Dumbo...
Not only that it might be further from the original story then the others. I think the only thing in the movie that actually happened was Pocahontas stopped her father from killing John Smith and his men.

I thoroughly enjoy these compilations. It's Friday morning: a cup of tea, a slice of toast and a Jon Solo video that's packed with fascinating and funny facts. It's Heaven/Valhalla/Nirvana/Elysium/Sion/Arcadia, etc.
The real, Snow White, sounds like one of those friends that is just absolutely exhausting. If I was one of her dwarves, I’d be like honey fool me once shame on you, fool me three times and girl, you on your own!

I had always guessed the answer to why a Raven is like a writing desk was they both have quills on them
When i heard that riddle when i was a kid, i thought it was supper easy because i only had ever seen 1 "writing desk" and it was black so i was like, "they are both black".
I hope one day we'll see Disney versions of ~Red Riding Hood~ & ~The Twelve Dancing Princesses~.
I'd like to see how Disney would tell their version of these tales.

I'd also like to see another/different story/movie about The Rescuer's.
She'd wear a Blue Track Suit in the current Disney style .

There is technically already a Disney adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood… a few actually.
There was an old 1930s Disney cartoon loosely adapting the story, which served more as a sequel short for the Three Little Pigs and Big Bad Wolf.

Thanks but yea, I'd already seen/knew about that one. I was thinking of more of a Full Length Movie that had an Autumn Harvest theme to it, and was somewhat of a combination of Disney's Legend of Sleepy Hollow & Beauty & the Beast sort of feel.
And if I were making the characters, Red would be an Elf, the Wolf would be a Werewolf, and the Woodsman would be a middle aged Clint Eastwood/Strider(LOTR) type that was Strong, Silent, and never says more than 1 or 2 words or 1 or 2 short sentences in any given scene. And he would always be scene sharpening his ax. (You know, to give the Disney version a unique angle.)

My understanding is they lost the copyright but a few years ago they trademarked Steamboat Willie (2017?) which means he’s never going to be usable to the rest of us, not legally. Trademarks don’t expire as long as the company still exists. Disney isn’t stupid. I guarantee you they were way ahead of this and found the loophole that will keep us from using their images.
What's really messed up about "Anastasia" is the way Don Bluth insisted on dragging Rasputin's name through the mud again!

My favorite answer to the Mad Hatter's riddle is Poe rope both, or basically Edgar Allan Poe himself being the answer.
Okay, I'm not quite sure which is worse, the original Snow-White story where the prince purchases the dead princess from the dwarves, who readily sell the dead girl's body, or the Disney version where the prince decides that the dead princess is so beautiful, he is compelled to open the coffin in order to kiss the dead girl's lips. Maybe the original, depending on what the prince planned on doing with (or to) the dead princess.

Lewis Carroll's answer to the riddle has another meaning that is often missed! For the second part of the riddle, try putting a comma after Nevar. It reads a different tone! "It is Nevar, put with the wrong end in front." Nevar is Raven put with the wrong end in front! It's a separate fact inside another fact!! With the other meaning being the one Jon mentioned. :)
It never seems to fail: every time I see a screenplay of _Beauty and the Beast,_ I find the beast form more attractive than the prince form.

If this is true, it sounds to me like Christopher Robbins was unappreciative towards his dad, who held him in such loving and high regard that he wrote a book based on him.
Technically, Disney's version tried to kill Snow White twice. She hired the huntsman to murder her and then tried to poison her.

copyright law only lasts for something like 95 years so that version of Mickey is in the public domain now

@@casellpeterson7424ots based on the year that version was most recently copywriter, usually in this case the most recent movie or tv show the design was used in. Although since they use the more modern design in theme parks the copywrite date might be more recent.

Just mentioning because you said you couldn’t find the news clip, maybe it’s that one. That’s where I learned the info and heard basically those same words you mentioned. I wonder if anyone else gives a shit about Minnie becoming public domain as well? Or if it’s just Mickey they are in a hurry to vilify.
I should also say I look forward to the day someone uses these characters in a creative story that isn’t just shock value and horror based. Not against Disney property becoming public domain, just don’t love the slaughter house versions personally.

Originally, no. It is a Don Bluth film that was made many years before Disney bought 20th Century Fox. One could say that technically it is now, however I personally do not consider it to be one despite the purchase. All depends on how you look at it, I suppose.
