They also have a Bar there too for after the ride and for the campers. I posted on Facebook that I think if they put some daily matinees in the trail (which I don't know if they do) and put some features like Sky Park it could be a destination that people get a hotel or camp and also go to the Wineries and Old Town Temecula for the Restaurants or to Party at night.
Good to see you out there rippin jumps again tony, awesome bike park
Thanks brother - means a lot! 👍
Great Vid Tony! I needed an introduction to Vail Lake... Ive seen decent ride videos there, but it always seemed to big and complicated lol. Now I wanna go check it out. If you ever come up to Norco... Keep up the good work man, and have a great week!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks Bryndon!
Vail is one of my favorite spots! There's so much out there, and they just keep building.
Can't wait to see where it goes. Agreed!
I was just checking this place out on MTB Project recently, maybe a trail guide style video in the future where you go over parking, trails heads, etc? Great video as always partner.
Thanks! Trailforks has a lot more info. Check my link in the description.
Good stuff!! On Matco rock garden at 5:12 in the video, there's a super gangsta inside race line, if you can make it happen you'll fly thru there!!
Nice I'll look for it next time bud!
Thanks for the intro to the campground and bikepark. Never heard of it until now
Any time!
Love Vail Lake,,,,,, Most under used recreation spot in So Cal
So good!
This place looks sick! Just technical enough to be challenging to me but not hard enough that I can’t handle it. Gotta get the trailer and family out here soon. Super fun video Tony!👍🏻
You should!
Good place to ride I have been going there for about 8 years now. Started going there when my daughter was racing high school MTB with nica. They have a ton of enduro racing there and they also have a camp ground with full hook ups!! Good times glad to see you have finally made it down there!!
Nice cheers Daniel!
You hit those jumps nice Tony. Nice job. Vail lake is an awesome place to ride with all the trails. I love Vail lake epically jumpline and 4114. I love watching your videos. Keep grinding.
Thanks! Will do!
@@TheOutsiderMTB Your welcome. Keep sending.
Aaron Gwin (5 time world DH Champ) raced his first ever enduro stage race at vailocity...this past Sunday! Like 2 days ago! He did ok, won.
Looked like Ash missed a series of snappy berm switch backs at the bottom of MTG/Maatco.
Also super awesome is the shady stone pub and patio in the campground where cold beverages are served on hot days in normy times.
Normy times. 😉
Nice! I gotta check this place out. Looks fun!
Please do!
Thats place looks like you can get going wicked fast! Glad you got your jumping "shoes" back on
Thanks man - you guys have to come down here for a few days.
@@TheOutsiderMTB I'm pretty sure Mark is already working on a plan. He has a massive trailer that is perfect for that KOA
Have you ever been to China Peak? It's a ski resort and bike park during the summer. It's in Lakeshore, CA about maybe an hour drive north of Fresno. If not, you should definitely check it out 😊
I've heard good things!
I think I might of found that first trail you did for warm-up but I need to go ask where it is. On MTG the 1st time I did it seemed allot easier than the 2nd time I did it after the rain. Also the Boulder field I always got to walk my bike. And with my hard tail cheaper bike there are sections of that trail I am just sliding out of control about to crash lol.
Tunnel of Love is to the right about half way up the initial climb on the right side. Cheers Frank!
Another great ride and video Tony! I keep saying I'm going to go out there to check it out. On a side note - is Ash the guy you introduced in a video a few months ago in Laguna who had just started riding??
You are correct. Thanks!
@@TheOutsiderMTB Holy CR@P! Amazing progression!! Great riding by Ash as well.
They've been doing endurance events out here for years. 6-12 hour events and I think a 24 hour event.
I want to come out and ride. I grow up in Cali . Now that I turned 60 I am wanting to show my Son where I road trails before they were named. Plus new places like this.
He out rides me on a dirt bike and have to say the same on jumps with a bicycle.
Plus we can camp there.
Super fun spot! Later this month there will be be two enduros there which are super fun! Maybe a little challenge between you and Alan.. check out SoCal endurance if your interested!
Sounds good!
How did we both put out vids on the same day, of the same place, the same trails, and not combine family picnics? Cheers! 🥃 ✌🏼🤟🏼
Good question! Haha next time my man!
do you ride with a chest cam? i have my gopro mounted to my chest cam but I find that the angle is very low. the bike and handlebars take up about 75% of the shot, hiding the view of the trail. your videos always look spectacular, and I'm wondering how I can get that gopro shot
I was having the same issue with my chest cam, but I angled the GoPro up a bit. I think I've just about found the sweet spot. not sure what Tony does though, hope it helps.
Install the gopro upside down. Then you can angle it up as much as you want.
Yeah just put it upside down and have it angled up
I don't use the gimbal anymore, just the upside down gopro and make sure the harness is super tight.
Cool spot! Is this where they have races also? 🤘🏼💯🔥
Yep!
What camera and mic are you using? Sound is great. (so is vid quality).
Just a GoPro 8 on this one with some editing on the back end.
TIRES! Hey Tony live your videos , what tires are your favorites for Southern California? Of course I too live in Southern California and was curious with all the riding you do what do you like. Thanks in advance.
Maxxis DHF and DHR right now. Cheers!
Looks fun! Is it tough to find your way around?
A bit - I'd suggest having trailforks handy,
That Ladders trail looks sick! I’m going there later today.. would you recommend goggles or just sunglasses?
I used glasses. Enjoy!
@@TheOutsiderMTB Ok, thanks!
Looks awesome Tony!
Thanks 👍
Looks fun. Thanks for posting.
You bet!
good dude love seeing you hit some gnarly jumps.
😉
Connecticut, eh? Me too! Of course I left back in 1988 or so but yeah man, I grew up riding a BMX bike on the streets and trails of meriden/wallingford.
I was born in Meriden - grew up in Wallyworld. Small world man!
@@TheOutsiderMTB ah man, super cool. I lived right on Ward St, went to Dag. I've probably got you by a few years, but are you familiar with what used to be "the canyons"? We had some nasty dirt jumps there at one point
I went to Dag. I think I went to those when I was really little on my Gt Performer.
Man I miss New Haven egg sandwiches! Bacon egg and cheese with avocado and hot sauce was my go-to
There you go! Haha
After 6-8 weeks of snow and ice, now I know why you left the east coast to come to California ❄️❄️❄️⛄⛄⛄
And there it is...😉
5:25 is the trail used for their Enduro races
This place looks super flowy lol. Def gonna be on my ride list. Didn't even know this place existed. It must be new?
Been around for years, but recently they started creating a lot of new trails and make it legit.
There was a rumor floating around that they brought in one of the trail builders from Greer. I’ve ridden there more this year than past and definitely notice maintenance being done.
I plan to spend a week in Orange County,, would you recommend Vailocity, Greer Ranch,, Santiago Canyon, Laguna ,, any others I am missing?
hulda crooks is also good
OC Must rides
1.) Newport Coast from Coastal Peak Park
2.) Aliso Woods Canyon from Coastal View Park
3.) San Clemente Single Tracks from Richard T. Steed Park
Have fun - we are blessed to have great riding all around us here in OC.
Matco is one of my favorite trails!
So fun!
Tunnel of Love, my favorite!
I live 10-15 minutes from here and this is the first I’ve heard of this... sick
Enjoy!
No signage even tho you pay an entree fee?
Seems something doable with couple of 2x4s and a sharpie.
Yah seems like an easy fix for sure.
Thats what has stopped me from going there. I dont want to pay to get lost
@@Bakerking3 I don't think getting lost is that easy out there. Just saying,,,,I have not been on the bike trails but I have driving all over those hills 4x4 , you can see from the high points where you are.. Lake on one side at bottom ,camp ground around the corner. If you sit still long enough you can hear cars on the highway..... But if you mean hit a double black diamond trail at 50 mph well okay you win,,,,or lose ,,,,,,
Hard to get lost out there. Trail forks app also helps..this place is fun and has trails for all levels. $5 is totally worth it and better to camp there.
@@jerrypeevey didnt know you could off road there. Are you still allowed?
Parking is included in the price or is the separate? I take some of the trails are ht friendly?
Yep all included. And yes there's all types of trails for any type if riding.
@@TheOutsiderMTB Nice!
Going here today👍
Love your vids Tony! Ps- are you related to David Avocado Wolfe? Haha 💯🤘🏼💚
Haha hell no!
So I'm riding down the 57 and I see a Thrasher sticker on a mtb...whaat? Could it be Tony Minestrone?
Hey man, thanks for using a phone mount in your truck. It saves lives...🤘🏼
Haha this made my day. Thanks for saying what’s up! 👍👊💥
Dude those r my favorite always get a bacon egg and cheese on a croissant when at Dunkin’ Donets
You said it Lex!
So with a campground, does that mean night riding is available?
Not sure on that one.🤷🏻♂️
Looks fun!!
Appreciate you sharing the video of Vailocity. Nice quality, however drone footage would have been beneficial due to the open terrain. Blue skies, Jg
Well, I just purchased a drone so...
Cool video man ! Need to go and check it out fo sho !
You should!
What was the name of the 3rd trail you were on?
Ladders.
Hey, really great video man!
Hey, thanks!
Thanks for the high quality videos, all the CZcamsrs now a days shoot in low quality.
👊
Looks like a fun spot. Too bad I’m down in LA. Too far for me to ride with my kids. It’s great how many bike parks are popping up with Covid.
For sure!
Another great recommendation 👍 thank u
LOL! Someone’s got a case of the Monday’s...
👊
Trumbull CT and Nepaug are stilll Epic!!
I miss Trumbull!
What percentage of time is spent climbing? I guess what I am getting at is... Is the juice worth the squeeze?
The descents are long, but you lay your dues.
sence when was you putting a skate brands stickers on your bike cuh
For a couple years now. I’ve been skating since I was 12.
@@TheOutsiderMTB Really? dont remember seeing it before
but nice yeah i have been skating sense i was 8 or 9, just thought it was a strange spot
I was a pro skater in a former life.
You had me at egg sandwich. Now I want one. Moooommmmm!
Those things are good and stinky.
what area is this in
Vail Lake - Temecula area.
ITS A GOOD DAYYY
👊
@@TheOutsiderMTB 👊🏽
Are you going to get the Yt tues
No, but I'll be riding it this year for sure.
Nice!
I was secretly hoping you'd keep the low energy of the intro going. Just for laughs.
Haha I thought about it...
@@TheOutsiderMTB Great minds.
Damn I wanted to be first 🤣. Hey Tony!
Yo!
Sick
Must talking about Aspen, California. LOL
yeah Tony, way to get back on the horse (YT)
Cheers man!
oooh man Dunkin donuts bacon egg and cheese on a croissant! Cant call yourself a new englander without eating a few of those! Over the past few months they've been burning the croissants whevenever I order one... kinda disappointing to be honest :(
Nooooooooooo
Tony come to visit Fresno.ca my crew and i will take you to 007 trail in bass lake i bet you will like this area
👊
Love the video but confused at the music that makes me feel like I'm watching a newborn montage....
So sit back and enjoy the life cycle. 😉
