It’s nice that UA finally started a direct flight from the US mainland to/from Manila. Watching this video, the meals are way better on Philippine Airlines. United meals are so limited. They don’t even have fruits or dessert specially on your meal #2. It’s “so tipid” . Hopefully they improve on their meals, specially on these long haul flights.
I'm SO excited they're going there again. I flew United to a from Manila in December 1997 and I think that was one of the last flights at the time.

If you’re taking an international flight on United, I’d strongly suggest that you order a special meal: there are five or six options. The food is better; you’re served first and it’s warm.
Way better than PAL , i tried both . The 787 seat layout of UA is more spacious 3-3-3 compared to PAL’s 777 layout 3-4-3..

Recently read that the German flag carrier Lufthansa is soon returning direct non stop flights to Manila from Frankfurt since they ceased flying to Manila in 2008, at present there are no direct flights to Europe from the Philippines, this development for Lufthansa if this materializes it's a great "Herzliche Willkommen Zurück zu Philippinen" to them again as I speak German and holding a Schengen Visa. When going to the Nordic countries I take Finnair to Helsinki Vantaa from Hong Kong after transferring from a Cathay Pacific flight from Manila.

enjoyable video. i might have missed it but - what seat class did you fly? it appears to be economy but i don't want to assume. i just watched a different youtuber who used UA to fly into Manila a few months ago and she said her seat was cramped. this is very important to me as, even though i am short, i value the seat pitch very much.

I have an upcoming flight from manila to SFO this week. I have 1hr and 50min layover for my next flight for chicago. Will the 1hr and 50 min be enough, provided that there will be US Border control interview?
@@febbyanneganancial1118 Oh I suggest to move fast starting from deplaning. Not to worry you or anything, im not sure how far the gate is from the border control. From my experience: after deplaning > border interview > had to go to a room to tell them what’s in my luggage > had to get my luggages from the carousel > had to open my bag in front of customs > then omw to my connecting flight. I had to perform these 5 steps before arriving to my gate en route to Seattle. It would probably also help if you mention the length of your layover to the airport security who’ll be escorting you so he/she can prioritise you. Have a safe flight!

UA uses a 787-9 in manila-sfo route?? Sa pagkakaalam ko kasi they only operates their Biggest plane which is a Boeing 777-300ER plane in their SFO-MNL-SFO vice versa route,

Sorry in advance for the not-so-straightforward answer but it all depends on how early you arrive sa immigration check and how fast you get your baggages from customs, and how long of a walk the gates to Houston are. But based on my experience, I made it to the gate of my connecting flight to seattle with enough time to get coffee, change into more comfortable clothes, and chill. 🧘♀️ my layover is just almost 3 hours. Yes, it's free! May movies, series, ambient sounds, etc. I just had to pay for wifi (may instructions naman sa monitor how to access. I had to pay via credit card) Yes, charger ko iyon pero mabagal ang charging :) Better if may dala ka talaga na powerbank.
with United, Is there another layer of security before entering the boarding area? Asking because with PAL there are two layers of security, one after immigration and one prior to entering the actual boarding area.

Pareho tayo na first time long-haul flight hehehe In my experience, after I went through sa immigration sa SFO airport, 1) I collected my baggage sa SFO carousel 2) Dinala ko yung mga bagahe ko sa customs for clearance 3) pagkatapos ma clear, I went through a door for connecting flights (malapit lang siya sa customs) habang dala-dala ko yung bagahe ko 4) i deposited my baggage to another carousel right before entering the gate to my connecting flight (chine-check naman nung attendants yung boarding pass para alam nila kung saan ipapasok mga bagahe mo) then ayun, I located na the terminal para maghintay for my connecting flight :) Hope this helps and enjoy Christmas in the US! @@ynahtabancura6196 Great question! Just a bit of context: Dahil nasa first batch ako nakababa, wala pa masyadong build-up sa pila ng immigration. Mabilis lang ang immigration and customs. All in all ata, mga less than 30 minutes (medyo natagalan lang ako sa pag-antay ng baggage ko sa carousel para ipa check sa customs) I have 2:57 minutes layover before my connecting flight so that's plenty of time na to rest and recharge a bit before bumyahe ulit

Si fiance kasi madaming pinabili, ngayon may mga nagaadvice na dapat hindi na magdala ng mga pasalubong(ex. Chips, cornik, mga tinapay like cheese bar and caramel bar, yema etc). Do you think it's safe na magdala for a first timer like me o iwan ko nalang yung mga yun? Thanks!
@@aldrinyangat2728 oh! I brought a looooot of pasalubongs for my family. As a matter of fact, dedicated ang isang luggage ko for pasalubongs only hahaha! I brought:
1. Pastillas, yema
2. Sampalok candies
3. Delimondo corned beef
4. Butter scotch
5. My magic oils (eficascent, chinese menthol oils, etc) lol
And a loooot more. Yung pasalubong luggage ko lang pina-open sa akin :) yung personal items ko, hindi inopen ng customs

I'm an immigrant so these were expected from me before the check-in counter:
1. Pre-departure Orientation Seminar Certificate aka PDOS (No need na to pag tourist visa)
2. Printed copy of the ticket
3. Passport with Visa
4. E-travel QR code
5. 1, 620 Php for the travel tax
Some tips:
1. In the check-in counter, make sure to confirm where you're going to get your checked-in bags in case you have a connecting flight
2. Get a boarding pass ticket
3. Just bring 2 items of hand carry: 1) A hand carry luggage with the right dimensions 2) A personal item (can be a backpack with a reasonable size, a belt bag, or shoulder bag) Upon boarding kasi, I have a belt bag for all my important items (mouthwash, eye drops, tissue, etc.) and a backpack with all my electronics and documents + a hand carry luggage with my pamalit winter clothes. The lady at the boarding gate will ask you to combine your personal items (that means combining my belt bag and backpack but they're not so strict na inside the plane).

Saka yung boarding pass naman po ipprint na lang sa kiosk?
@@phildrickperea2891 Oh, in that case, you just need your passport and printed email copy of the ticket. I don't think you need an e-travel na (but double check lang!). E-travel is a qr code that holds all of the pertinent info about you para you don't need to fill up forms. You can look it up para you have an idea. Here's the link: etravel.gov.ph/ And yes, the boarding pass will be printed na sa kiosk.

"Yes, you may pack food in your carry-on or checked bag, but remember all food must undergo x-ray screening. Foods that are liquids, gels, or aerosols must comply with the 3-1-1 liquids rule. TSA officers make the final decision on whether certain items are permitted into the secured areas of the airport." However, personally po, I would exercise caution and ask the airline mismo during check-in just to be super duper sure. Hi, I can say this with a hundred percent certainty. Whatever your point of entry is in the United States (Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, etc.) you will have to pick up your checked luggage from the carousel, take it with you through customs, and then hand it back to the baggage handler waiting for you after customs. They will then send it to your connecting flight. Hope this helps.

Hello, ask ko lang po anong card ginamit mo pag pay for the ticket online? Kasi yung samin we used debit card and na deduct yung amount sa account namin pero di daw nag rereflect sakanila. Plan ko mag rebook and pay for it again while waiting ma revised yung payment na na deduct sa bank ko.

It wasn’t life-changing 😅 unfortunately, I don’t have a vast long-haul flight experience to quantify my rating with united but so far, the check-in was seamless (they even offered to check-in my carry on luggage for free!), food was not bad, and the attendants were nice. 5/5 :)
