I know for certain the top 2 guys behind Jim, figured he would blow up and not finish, when they kept hearing how far ahead he was. The runners behind him, know you have to run slower, when your in 100 plus all out sun weather. Had Walmsley played it smart, and really slowed it down in the heat, along with takin more measures to help his body counter the heat, he would have EASILY won this race. No disrespect to Walmsley, but you have to play it smart in every way, when your running unprotected from trees, for a lot of miles, in 95-105 heat. Hopefully he will figure out how to combat the heat much better next time, if he runs this race again. Jim is clearly one of the top in the world. I would like to see him race Kilian Jornet in one of the Mont Blonc races...UTMB/CCC. That would be an incredible showdown.

I like Walmsley but Avery Collins is going to be one of the biggest names in the ultra scene for years to come..he'll go top 5 at Western..dude is just getting started
