Lady Lily, singer of the German intro and wife of the composer Christian Bruhn, performed an English version of the intro, too. It sounds better than the official English version in this video, I think.
Anyway. In my opinion the Portuguese and Ukrainian versions (beside the German one 😉) are the best matches for the intro.

I also this morning found the 1 minute TV Cut of the extended one I linked above.
i wonder why they changed artists and lyrics for the show listed up on CZcams. I wonder if home video versions have the updated English theme and tV ones had the original version. That mystery may sadly never be known.

This series aired originally here in Portugal around 1988 by the public television, and although it was dubbed to European Portuguese, the song remained the original german version. That was usual with other dubbed series back in the day. The portuguese version of the song probably was from a later rerun by a private channel or for a DVD release. Because it is the first time that I am hearing it!!!

    So many versions here. o.o
Anyways, my personal favorites are Italian, German Portuguese, Ukrainian and English. I don’t really like Dutch and Hindi here, like what everyone else is saying. I think I remembered you mentioning that this anime was dubbed in Persian, but the music was in Arabic. Hope the Persian opening is found soon since it seems weird for it to not dub the music. For Russian, I think you mentioned that there was a website for it, but it’s unable to play. I think I can try to access the website with the appropriate set up to play the video and see. Not sure how I’ll be able to send it when it becomes playable. Chinese could be found on some online websites, like Tuhou or something, but I’m not entirely sure. o.o
With versions that possibly exist, I hope they can be found soon, especially Catalan and Tagalog, as it would quite strange for these ones to not dub the series and music.
My predictions for countries that could dub this anime for an anniversary or something in the future could be in Croatian, Slovenian, Swedish, Thai, Turkish and Danish. All of these may not dub the music, but it would be fun to see what they would do if they had the rights. Albanian is possible for a future dub, too, but based on the pattern they’ve been following, it could be an illegal dub in the future unfortunately and may follow the Italian dubbing, like with the other anime dubbings in the past.

Very interesting video. I never thought so many countries made their own songs for the intro instead of just recording vocals for the Lady Lily song in their respective languages.
As far as I'm concerned, I normally hate anime with the only two exceptions being this one and Kaiketsu Zorro which I watched as a young kid back in the 90s. I'm from Bulgaria and our dubbings are usually cheap rubbish - all they do is just lower the volume of the original audio and have our voiceover actors (usually two to three men and two to three women) read the dialogue with just enough intonation not to sound like robots. They also read out the titles of the show instead of them being written as subtitles in Bulgarian and read out their names during the credits as well as those of the translator and the director of the dubbing which I've always found to be very annoying. So we never had our own version of the intro - it just remained with the English version. It was common practice in the 90s and it still is today. The only exception to the rule are our local versions of Cartoon Network and Disney Channel and it's probably because Americans or Brits pay for the quality dubbing which, I believe, costs three times as much as the regular one. Can you believe how the original actors in shows and movies do their best to nuance their performance only to have it ruined by some rubbish voiceover artist?
