    Beautiful gun. As I get older, I find myself really loving 1911s with the traditional GI lines and none of the fancy stuff, especially those with the spur hammer and arched main spring housing.

    A littermate to a Colt Series 70 Stainless. The long trigger was intended to mate to a flat mainspring housing and the short trigger to the arched housing. Of course we now also have medium length triggers and mix and match to desired combinations of mainspring housings. For purposes of interchangeability I have an old blued original Series 70 Governemnt that was so worn when acquired that it had to be sent out for professional refinishing and replacement of fitted safety components. The master gunsmith installed an original Springfield spur hammer, sear, and manual side safety left over from another build and these are working fine in the Colt for the last 16 years.

    Supernatural was a good show but got a little goofy at the end. Dean Winchester is definitely one of my favorite tv characters. He toted that GI 1911 religiously, drove a 67 impala, was tough as nails,and literally went to hell and back. Glad I’m not the only one who wanted a 1911 similar to Dean’s lol. 1911’s will always hold a place in my heart no matter if they are modern or GI configuration.

Dean is quite the bad mamma jamma, and uses a gun befitting to such. I’ve now started to desire a nice silver 1911 for my first, as they look so brilliant in the sunlight. This may be a contender.

    Nicely done gentleman! Good focus on the basic intrinsic 1911 with good engineering and build and looks great too! Appreciate the nice words YB about the SA Stainless video I did. As you know this was not just my first 1911, but my first semi-auto. As I may have mentioned and as you are both into all things 1911, check out the Topper Toys Johnny Eagle Lieutenant life size 1911 complete with case, magazine, spring loaded bullets, and casings which it shoots. I had one as a kid in the 60s along with watching Combat, 12 O'clock High, and Rat Patrol. Makes an interesting addition to a collection LOL. Someday I might even find and buy one as we have collector toy stores here in Las Vegas. Love those grips. This SA Mil-Spec is one of my best shooters for distance i.e. 20-25 yards or more. Stable and accurate. Have a great week!

      For sure. btw the two ended up being 6 in the household LOL…. I have 4 now, I ended up making this gun look like Vincent’s from Pulp Fiction. 2 of my Mil-Specs are two-tones now, reverse and standard… I’ll probably end up making a video on those ones. I will probably buy another Mil Spec Stainless and have it sent off for engraving a year or two from now.

      Thanks Max! I got this Stainless Mil-Spec back in January, we filmed this video in March. I decided to now publish the vid as I felt it was time. You really should shoot your Mil Spec, it’s a blast. FYI, I did sand the sides (external edges) of the beavertails on like 3 of our Mil Spec 1911’s. You may also want to do that so the grip safety is smooth feeling (when handling or shooting the pistol) with no irritation at all in the web of your hand.

      @@MDpolo I sanded on my black model, its going to look "distressed" on the edges of the beavertail... If the looks of that will bother you, id leave it be... Got one of these not to long ago, the firing pin retainer was badly…. Badly cracked/chipped from factory, never fired it, quick swap to Wilson combat forged part and it good to go, couple spots of corrosion on the grip but it’s all good! Stainless not stainproof, also threw a tlr6 on it and great home gun or carry gun now

    Nice to hear a bit of the Beverly Hills Cop 2 OST. Maybe you can do an overall entry level 1911 compilation video just to have some more decent entry level options to choose from. A table video showing play and adding links to range footage would be fine.

    • @BERETTA9mmUSA
      @BERETTA9mmUSA  Před 3 lety

      Currently the only entry 1911’s we have are the Ronin’s and the Mil-Specs. We have not been happy with other pistols in this price range we’ve looked at thus far. (Ruger, Auto Ordnance, SDS/Tisas, RIA etc.)
      I am considering reviewing a Remington, but their 1911’s have cast frames…. Not sure how I feel about that to be completely honest.

    Amazingly, I too really enjoy that look of the show's handgun. I'd love to know where, if you obtain the accurate engraving for the slide. Also, the ivory grips with the colt logo would complete the look.

      I think I am at 14, and I plan to stop at 20. Or when I retire in 13 or 14 months whatever happens first. I still own 3 Dan Wesson’s….. as I sold 5 Dan Wesson’s to help pay for 5 Les Baer 1911’s that I wanted. We have Videos up on lots of 1911’s from several manufacturers if you are interested. 🥳🤠👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

  • @G56AG
    @G56AG Před 2 lety

    The most important thing, does it rattle when you shake it? A true military 1911 rattles when you shake it. I read some of the documentation for the mil-spec, I think the rattle was in the specs, I'm pretty sure that was in there. I think that was a war thing, when challenged: 'Who goes there?' All you had to do was shake your 1911 and the sentry would know you're an American with a 1911. It is April fools day isn't it? 😁
