Left lane could be really effective if you manage to do a light shot from the right flipper, you may be able to pass on the rollover twice since the ball won't have enough strength to complete the lane. I used this technique quite a lot to collect extra balls and easy specials with this game.
The bootup sequence is quite clever. You'll hear "3 ball" or "5 ball" after the game introduces itself depending on if it was set for 3 ball or 5 ball game.
Your shooting priorities can really depend on Special/Extra Ball settings. Since I'm no good at flipper transfers, or nudging, my primary targets are usually the balls from the left flipper and the left lane from the right (safe shot & working toward EB). Those multiplier shots can sometimes drain the ball to the middle and I usually only go for them to try to beat a replay score. DELUXE is the highest priority if completing the backglass means 3 replays and you need just 1 or 2 more letters. One of my all-time favorite games.
First time I ever played this was at the Louisville Arcade Expo this year. Thing was tough as nails, but then again, I also had no clue what I was doing. Looking forward to challenging it again next year and seeing if I can do any better.

This game doesn't work in a three-ball format, as it's an absolute crap shoot. As far as the nudging is concerned, you are so right. To the second idiot, old Gottleib games were classics, the newer ones not so much. Why do you hate on this game so much? Eight Ball Delixe is for good players, not dipshits who want multiballs every ball, a light show and a hand job.

I'm going to assume shifting and hitting the machine doesn't risk damage? We have a huge pinball "museum" called Silverball in Asbury Park, and I just feel bad being forceful with the machines that to me are treasures .. whether they're from the 70s or 2000s. I don't want to cause harm to them with forceful nudging.
@@gynandroidhead It's my favorite place in the world that isn't a beach or some natural wonder lol .. even then it still may be my favorite. I wish we had other places within 2 hours of central Jersey with more than 5 machines to play. There's a handful of machines I really want to play that Silverball doesn't have. I was beyond thrilled when I walked in and saw they had Willy Wonka. Didn't take them long to get it. Hope they keep getting Jersey Jack machines. They're all awesome except maybe The Hobbit.. that did nothing for me.

I got this for Pinball Arcade and I'm glad to see it's just as brutal in real life for a pro because this table kicks my ass constantly lol

Bonus multiplier seems scary to me. Most times I've played this game it drains whenever I go for 3x.

Nope. Much more than a nudge will tilt the machine. You would have to be quite brutal to do any damage to these machines.
