How to Tune a Carburetor, Yamaha Banshee Edition. These steps work for most carbs, 2 and 4 stroke.

- The last steps of this Yamaha Banshee build are coming to a close. This is how to check and tune the carbs for different sections of the throttle, IE, "plug dropping" I got 2 initial feels on how things were set, adjusted to compensate, then did the individual throttle checks, idle, mid before power band, and top end jetting. After those were all done I got one last track run on it for a final shake down safety test. I love having a test track that's actually a third forth gear track for the faster guys. I also avoided hitting the larger throw ya jumps because this swing arm is not designed for hard hits. The few pops I did were good enough to make sure the suspension was in good shape.

Good video. I have better luck with the uni pod filters. I just did 2 videos. The 1st one was cleaning, and the 2nd was oiling. No editing. Just used my phone for the videos so far. But I will be using gopro soon.

Mis to top end sputtering is usually main jet leaning out? Currently tuning mine and learning in the process. Great video though!
I’d almost think sputtering on top would be way fat, unless you’re way way lean. If you do a top end pull and see aluminum on the plug it’s burning a hole in the piston. That’s why I only typically do a 3 second pull. Won’t damage much but will show issues. Look up oem jetting and adjust from there as per the build. Should give you the lean side of ok if it’s built. Or be really close if it’s not modded too heavily
Im having a problem with my 421 it rips in gears 1-5 but 6th has no power
do you have a high flow petcock on it? I've seen them suck carbs dry before. fuel cap vent can also be a problematic point of interest.
