    • @AshOwnz9
      @AshOwnz9 Před 5 lety +14

      @@Elijah.19 He hardly bought trophies lol, he just invested the money generated by Real Madrid fantastically well as a whole. Real Madrid runs with a rapidly increasing revenue, improving levels of pre-tax and net profit, a positive cash balance and small levels of net debt. He's a role model owner.
      He paid for the galicitos by selling a training ground that rapidly increased in value due to it's location and invested it into a new training ground, reserve team stadium and many other facilities alongside the transfer fees.
      In his first term he brought up youth prospects of Raul, Guti & Casillas alongside a free signing of McManaman. Got Carlos & Morientes for small fees considering their quality and made money on the transfers of Owen, Robinho & Makelele.
      You can not like the guy, but to call what he did stupid is just pure ignorance.

    I think there’s a gradual change in football every 15-20 years or so. Clubs which used to get a lot of investment stop getting it because they become “boring and predictable to the investors”. Remember when AC Milan and Inter were dominant in the champions league? Their places were taken by barca and Real. PSG and Man City weren’t even popular 15 years ago but now they’re both very likely to win the CL

    How Al Fayed is not included is actually shocking, took fulham from the bottom profession tear in english football to the prem in 4 years making us the only team to get more than 100 points in seasons. Plus brought in huge stars like Saha and Van der Saar and then continued to keep fulham in the prem for 13 years with an intertoto cup (nothing special i know) and having fulham in the uefa cup/europa league 4 times oh and also got us to the final. Some of these haven't even been there that long or made an impact quite as big as that like marseille or wolves. A few of the others just took some huge clubs and won trophies. Al Fayed took us from nothing to almost european champions and a consistent and at sometimes very good prem team
