- Trunks is one of the most important characters in dragon ball. Without a him the current timeline wouldn't have survived. He has faced many obstacles in his life and he is the one Dragon ball Character who has the worst life. He did everything he could to protect his timeline, but in the end he wasnt able to. Pretty sad if you ask me. So today I will go over and explain the whole life of Furture Trunks.

@@flybandit1 Going to Goku's timeline and changing Goku's future caused Black Goku and Zamasu to appear in Trunks own timeline. He caused a butterfly effect in his own timeline.
@@jjdd4307 What's really strange though is how Cell didn't kill everyone in his timeline thus leaving nothing for Future Zamasu to wreck on Earth. And one could consider how trunks traveled back to his timeline (apparently) and killed Cell, but wouldn't that create a new timeline, surmounting in a sum total of 3 parallel timelines?
1 - Where Goku is cured
2 - Where Goku dies, but Cell is released and brings carnage
3 - Where Goku dies, but future Trunks kills Cell effectively saving the Earth
Then there's the fact that Cell coughed up Android 18, but still returned as Super Perfect Cell.
It’s weird to think Future Trunks’ timeline is technically the true (main) timeline if it weren’t for Future Bulma making the time machine for Trunks to save the past.
Cell's Timeline is the true timeline which is now at peace.

Future Trunks and Future Mai, after their timeline is erased, should go to the timeline that another Future Trunks was killed by Cell. That timeline is forgotten by everyone, even the author. In that timeline, all Z Fighters are killed but Bulma is alive. If Future Trunks goes there, there would be only one Trunks but two Mais. Future Trunks needs to deal with Bibidi again, and he needs Present Whis' help to kill Zamasu in that timeline beforehand.

2 years late but with the most latest update from the manga... if future trunks traveled to that timeline he will just suffer even more , future trunks will be alone fighting stronger enemies greatest example would be moro... like vegeta said, what if there will be an even stronger opponent? With future trunks all alone he will not be as strong unless by any sort of miracle future trunks made contact with broly on that timeline to train which is close to impossible unless the kais of his timeline helped him

I don’t know much but basically cell is from the future of trunks timeline. He killed trunks in his timeline and went to our timeline, the past, to absorb Android 17 and 18 since they were already destroyed in cells timeline
Basically what the guy above me said, cell and trunks' timelines are very similar for the most part, the differences starts showing after trunks from both timelines go back in time. The trunks we know got way stronger in the hyberbolic time chamber, then went back to his future and destroyed the androids + the cell of his timeline. However, when the other version of Trunks from Cells timeline travelled to the past, he didnt train with Vegeta, instead he got a remote control to shut down the androids (made from the blueprints in Dr Geros lab). When he went back to his future, he destroyed the androids with the remote, but lacked the strength to beat Cell. Thus, he died, and Cell took his time machine to find the androids in the past
Actually Cell's timeline is the present. Everything that happens in future trunks' original timeline also happens in Cell's and only changes after Cell travels back.
Cell's timeline begins with Goku dying by a disease, androids 19 and 20 killing everyone but Trunks, Trunks travels back into the past (without Cell showing up cause he didn't hatch yet), Trunks and Co (assumably) used the remote control in the past, Trunks takes the remote blueprints or the device itself back into his future, deactivates the androids there too (which is why Cell couldn't find them in the future) and decides he has to travel back to the past. Thus he kills Trunks (who didn't grow stronger than Cell cause he didn't need to) and takes his place. Story proceeds as shown in the anime.

I hate time 🧭travel🧳 but probably not as much as Trunks does. Time travel seemed to be an easy fix but the more times you use it more problems arise.
I would’ve kind of liked to see how his “new timeline” is now, with the 2 Future Trunks and Mais, just seemed interesting to me ever since the Episode came out.

Yeah, a spin off series about Future Trunks would have been cool. Think itd be also neat if this Trunks appeared with the futuristic Great Sayiaman 3 as his masked alter ego.. I just really want to see that outfit in action.
Trunks his future literally is the saddest thing ever
Cell caused his own downfall. After killing Trunks, he travels to the past having to regress back to a larva. Once Cell matured back to his imperfect form, Why didnt he make any attempt to conceal or destroy the evidence/Time Machine/cacoon etc.
Because it was the mere fact that Trunks found out about his existence and the fact he time traveled from the future which made Trunks stay in the present timeline and train with his father in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
Had Cell been more discrete with his existence in the present timeline, Trunks would never be motivated to stay and train, thus ending future cell as well

The Cell saga was confusing as heck
From what I can piece together there are actually 4 different cells, 2 future trunks, and 4 timelines
Current cell - This is the one that Krillin and Trunks blew up under Gero's lab
Main Future Cell - the one that stole Trunks time machine, and the one that was defeated by Gohan
Future Cell - The one that Trunks killed when he traveled back to the future
Alternate Cell - the cell from the timeline where main cell never showed up
Main Future Trunks - The one that fights with the Z fighters, and also was killed by main cell. The one we get to see the most
Dead Future Trunks - The one that was killed by Cell when Main Future Cell stole the time machine
Timeline 1 (unaltered): Goku kills Frieza and Cold. Future trunks never shows up. Cell is still in Gero's lab, and will hatch in over 17 years. This is future Trunks timeline
Timeline 2 (original altered timeline): Future Trunks shows up to kill Frieza and Cold, but Cell is not there. 17 and 18 actually shows up in 3 years instead of 19 and 20. We never see this timeline in the series. This is also the the timeline where Dead Future Trunks comes in to save
Timeline 3 (main series): This is the timeline we get to see. Where Both Trunks and Cell show up. The one where the Z fighters fight cell, and Gohan kills Cell
Timeline 4 (altered): This is the timeline where Cell kills Trunks in the future, and then steals his time machine.
Original: Goku dies of heart virus, and then later the androids show up. This is future trunks time
Alter 1: Future Trunks saves Goku, and androids 17 and 18 show up instead of 19 and 20
Alter 2: Cell alters the already altered timeline by coming back from timeline 4 future.
They should explain the timelines better in the actual show

Future Trunks fought so hard to save those he cared about, even risked his life for a timeline not his own. And his reward for all his sacrifice is losing literally everyone and everything he ever cared about minus Mai and that timeline he fought to protect being erased altogether.

Every tragedy in Trunk's timeline is the responsibility of the time machine. Zamasu was correct in saying that time travel is forbidden. Changing something in the past will have consequences. Trunk's timeline has been affected by his actions. If you don't want to see a bad future, don't try to reverse certain actions because that will cause effects that you can't predict.
That desparate battle theme really well fit theme for future trunks

Why didn't Trunks and Mai go to Cell's future. It would've been good to see Bulma and trunks unite and prevent that timeline zamasu from occuring

If Goku during the present timeline used the super dragon balls to wish back Trunks universe/timeline would that bring back Zamasu? I always wondered about that because the ending was not a happy one for Trunks and Mai. Trunks had a very rough life and his whole story is so sad but he is one tough son of a bitch to deal with everything that happened.
Also how strong would future 17 be if he was good like in Super? He was clearly stronger than the present 17 so would that mean he would be on par would Blue Kaioken instead of just Blue? Who knows but I love 17!
He sure is tough. Maybe, they could have asked for the universe and everyone that wasn't bad to be brought back. That way Zamasu wouldn't have come back.

Wait for a second, how the hell did Goku Black happen? If Goku is dead in Future Trunk's timeline, how'd Zamasu get his body? He couldn't have traveled to another timeline because when he tried to follow after Trunks when he first travelled himself, he was quickly sent back! How does this WORK?!
Goku black was from another timeline. Then after he steals Goku's body he goes to the future timeline. There, he recruits the other zamasu and kill all the Gods. Here they stay and do the Zero mortals plan.

Hey there, Dragon Ball Code. Love your channel, could you please answer me one question? How come Zamasu stole Goku´s body if in that timeline, goku was dead?
Basically there are 2 main timelines
1 timeline where Zamasu exist
He use the super dragon balls
Switched bodies with Goku killed his family and friend.
Than went to Trunks's timeline
Killed all supreme Kais teamed up with Future Zamasu and launched Zero Mortal Plan.
And then there is 2nd main timeline where Beerus erased Zamasu before he launches Zero Mortal Plan.
So basically Future Trunks going back to the main timeline splitted the timeline even more.
In simple words Goku Black is from the un altered main timeline where Zamasu exist and started his Zero Mortal Plan.
Anyone else realize that Mai is around 75 when Trunks is in his maybe early thirties?

There were a lot of future Trunks but I think there was only 1 future Gohan. I think that the timelines started to get crazy once Future Gohan was dead.

lol Whatever changes in the past doesnt affect the future timeline. So he has to physically do whatever he needs to do in the future.
It is explained in "The History of Trunks" that the death of Piccolo at the hands of Androids 17 and 18 also resulted in the death of Kami (they were/are connected) and so the dragon balls are no longer a thing in his timeline. This makes Trunks' story that much darker and more heartbreaking because in his timeline, dead means dead.

DBS Trunks canon conflicts with DBXV Trunks canon which is a much more happier one for him. I hope they fix that.

You know there’s 2 future trunks after the cell saga the cell future trunks wouldn’t show up anymore however as a result created the goku black arc making the goku black future trunks (also because cell future trunks went back in time to the present timeline he was born a little early making Gohan and present Trunks the same age)
