Absolutely fantastic. A wonderful idea. It must be an amazing book to read. I just hope the book doesn't imply any more than it just really was: a strong friendship. Any mention of a sensual relationship of king David with any other men would be terrible and unforgivable disrespect, of course, but the amount of love between two loyal friends is something that we, as a society, can't even understand anymore and end up confusing two very distinct tings. I hope to read it as soon as possible!
David and Jonathan was a story of friendship. David was married. The idea that one can interpret that as LGBT in a Jewish context is revisionist nonsense. Male friendship is real thing.
